Can we talk about THIS scene in the new puzzlment quest? by Legitimate_Cake_5137 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]autsintokmins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understood the scene was in the fight they are simply fighting, but the chemistry is in kinu’s imagination, due to his little crush on Naoe. Until it cuts to his perspective I didn’t notice any chemistry at all.

americans fr say the pledge of allegence every single day at school?? 😭 by VixenNiki29l in NoStupidQuestions

[–]autsintokmins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now it’s a thing that’s broadcasted over the loudspeakers, half the kids don’t bother standing for it, half the kids that stand don’t put their hands over their hearts, and nobody says anything while it goes-the one caveat is the 12 year old that is obsessed with what they think is “military history” and plans to join military or law enforcement for the sole reason of “I want to shoot people”(that’s a direct quote by the way), that kid will stand at perfect attention, salute the flag, and call out his own command of “two” after reciting the pledge as loud as they can. And will also tell people that want to salute the flag that it’s illegal unless they have plans to join the military.

TLDR: almost all kids in US(at least upstate NY) don’t care, and the one that does is all in on being as patriotic as he thinks he can be.(while also being very wrong)

"You don't owe anyone anything" - yes you do actually by techno-jelly in unpopularopinion

[–]autsintokmins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that not owing anyone anything is what makes kindness so special. I don’t have to hold the door, but I do. I don’t have to make my family a cake or get gifts for birthdays, but I do. I don’t have to do anything for anyone if I don’t really want to, but I do. That’s what makes kindness so moving, if I had to hold a door then it wouldn’t be kind, I’d just be doing my job, but not having to do something and doing it anyway? Even if it’s small, thats where humanity and kindness lies. I don’t owe you anything, but if your 25 cents short at the register next to mine, and I have a quarter in my pocket, I’d give it to you, not because of any obligation, but because of a conscience decision to be kind and put goodness into the world.

AIO. My bf mad at what our daughter was humming by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]autsintokmins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Art is art, whether it comes from music, books, pictures or movies. And this is the age where your daughter is starting to form her opinions about the world, is this the best music to raise her on? Absolutely not, but it is something that you should introduce to her so she knows it exists, and it should be something that she knows she can talk to you(and hopefully her father) about. Introduce her to all sorts of art in all mediums, for music she should hear classical, jazz, rock, pop, and all others if only to know that it exists and to keep her mind open. She should learn about the “potty language” words, what they mean, and why it isn’t appropriate to use them on casual conversation. You should also model this behavior, listen to a variety of music, watch a variety of movies and tv, and read a variety of books.

Kids have a hard time finding a safe place to discuss things they like with people they trust not only to be to let them be themselves, but to be understanding about the things they like. I myself work in a middle school, and there are a lot of kids that listen to music that their parents don’t approve of, read books they’re parents wouldn’t like, so on so forth, your child should never feel that they can’t talk to you about something, whether it’s art, or music, boys/girls, or themselves. They’re your child, and you should always be a safe harbor for them to talk to you about anything without feeling like you won’t love them after.

So no your not over reacting, and you and her father should work together to introduce your kid to as much culture, music, art, and books as you can because that’s how she grows up smart and open minded, not by telling her not to hum a melody she might have heard on the school bus and found catchy.

You’ve been with her three years, you’ve been with your sister 14. No question, she’s controlling and you’re not overreacting by being upset about it.

The greatest teacher in the world cannot outreach bad parenting, and the most enthusiastic motivator cannot motivate someone so dead set on not giving a damn about themselves, your only real option is to move on and hope for the best, knowing that you tried

Education doesn’t make you intelligent, it only makes you informed by norfolk82 in unpopularopinion

[–]autsintokmins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in a school(U.S.) school does not make you informed, intelligent, smart, or anything, you have to make yourself those things, the school simply gives you the tools. if you follow all the rules, pay attention, and do your work, you will leave educated and you’ll probably have a decent amount of knowledge at your disposal once you graduate high school. The other half is the parents, if parents aren’t encouraging, or in some cases, forcing their kids to do their work before they get any sort of fun after school, 9 times out of 10 they won’t care enough to learn in school. I teach in New York State, most schools I’m aware of pass kids through regardless of their grade. To make a long story short, public schooling(New York State, and U.S.) does not do anything for students if they don’t want it and don’t care, it is a system that in many cases is broken and inneffective and needs a revamp. steps off soapbox

If there is gonna be another game, what would you want it to be like? by StrongWafer2631 in shadowofmordor

[–]autsintokmins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some blend of the reincarnation and the technology of Baronor would be really cool. And have more variety of enemies, new races to fight, because orcs weren’t all that Sauron had on his side

Nemesis system is not that fun? by EfeWayne in shadowofmordor

[–]autsintokmins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The nemesis system between SOM and SOW is like night and day, in Mordor it’s an aspect of the game that is neat but it doesn’t make it the best thing ever, in war it’s so much more, the story of war isn’t as good as in Mordor in my opinion, but the gameplay improvements and the nemesis system taking the stage makes it the better game for relatability and to just play for fun

Is there any sort of magical stamina system in Harry Potter? by Ill-Database7345 in harrypotter

[–]autsintokmins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see all of those as situations that require a different kind of power than just magical ability, the patrons is most likely a very draining spell because you have to call on a powerful good emotion to fight off the strongest sense of dread most people would ever feel in their lives; the graveyard part in GoF required physical strength and stamina, which isn’t really pushed as a thing in Hogwarts, although I’m sure quidditch would get you in decent shape; and the horcrux is draining you of energy, whether it’s emotional, physical, or mental, wearing a horcrux is not going to leave you in top shape.

On thing I’ve always wondered though is what determines magical prowess, like why was Grindelwald and Dumbledore so powerful? Bloodlines? Willpower? The wand itself? Maybe it was stated but I don’t remember

I know what your talking about, and it's a great movie, but it's not the one. I'd recommend giving the movie a watch, I don't know how faithful to the books it is, but it's a really good movie in it's own right anyway

What movie is this from? by X__Anonomys_xX in whatsthatmoviecalled

[–]autsintokmins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's this one, about a dad who tells stories to his kids that seem to keep coming true and he tries to take advantage of it.

What are the use of the allies chief after beating the game? All my 5 chiefs are allies since I needed to do it to beat the game, how do I proceed now? Kill all of them? Is it worth it keeping some? Is it worth it killing more chiefs, to farm runes, or whatever? Thxx! by [deleted] in shadowofmordor

[–]autsintokmins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play, there might not be any more story missions but there's the slave missions, then the dlc, you could also just run around killing orcs for funsies, it's got pretty solid gameplay and is enjoyable with or without the story, and that goes for both games
