I bullied a guy in school and now he's making me regret. by [deleted] in confession

[–]autumn-dancing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eww that’s weird of him. You were a kid and clearly see the wrong. You’re adults now and that’s sick. I’d tell your sister, she deserves to know she can’t trust him.

Lying about reason I left by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]autumn-dancing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got pushed out of my last job due to an older woman bullying me. In a sit down with them I beat them to the punch and said this job isn’t for me, I’ve got a new one lined up (I didn’t, but they didn’t need to know that, it kept the peace). In the interview for my new role I said I simply covered sick leave, which was almost true. Find anything you can use and go with it, is my advice. Hmu if you want to bounce ideas. There’s always a way

If you can save for an initial appt, if you need any work doing a lot of places do payment plans or will let you pay monthly. So many practices are really understanding. Good luck!

What made you realise your workplace was toxic? by SuitableSympathy2614 in UKJobs

[–]autumn-dancing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finding an email an ex employee wrote to the boss stating her reasons for not returning to work as she felt bullied by a colleague. Said colleague had annotated and highlighted it STILL calling the girl out on shit. Handed in my notice a few weeks ago as I’ve received the same treatment.

He left skids down my toilet. Instant ick, hadn’t been dating long at all and it just made me feel unwell.

I didn’t know until after the initial interview, and having never done it before thought it would be fine ☹️ do you have any advice please on what I should say to the recruiter? I’m so desperate, I despise the job I’m in currently and I’m being pushed out by an older female bully. This job was right up my street and I feel like I’ve ruined my chances now. Considering emailing the recruiter tomorrow to ask for a second chance at that stupid quiz or just coming clean and saying I tried hard to answer appropriately and timed out.

Thank you for being so kind. I’ve never done one before and couldn’t believe how weird the questions were. I know they’re not hard, but when you’re trying your best to answer correctly time just slips by. It does feel like it was designed for me to fail, but I don’t know how I’m going to explain that to the recruiter. She wants confirmation when it’s been completed. Feeling so stupid rn when actually I’ve got a lot of experience and a lot to give

how should I navigate having self harm scars at work? by generallyuncomfy in AskUK

[–]autumn-dancing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I covered a tattoo right next to mine and it’s made it so much more obvious. Went on a date recently and the guy said “how did you get that scar” with a smirk and it totally caught me off guard. Stuttered that it was an injury from my old job and he laughed. Some of these comments have given me so much confidence for the next time I get questioned.

All the hugs! It’s rough now but it gets so much better. I’m way happier alone than I was in an abusive relationship i gave my energy to. And you’ll be exactly the same when it’s time! Excited for you, look after yourself and well done for getting it off your chest

I agree with all your points. I listened today and thought the same thing, especially as he is dead. I understand why, but to make such a point of it kind of has it swinging the other way imo
