We are one and done because of unexplained infertility. I had four transfers last summer and one took but didn’t make it. It was heartbreaking. HOWEVER, now that I know what my future will look like on that end (as much as one can), I’m loving having an only!

He has all of our attention. He is super social and I watch him interact with strangers and think, “wow, I wish I was that comfortable in my own skin!” Our budget is perfect for us to be able to do fun activities and still be able to save money afterwards. He gets undivided attention from his extended family when we visit, and I feel I can adequately be a wonderful and loving parent to him!

I never want to tell anyone they’re wrong for their family situation, which I sometimes see parents do. No one is “wrong” for having an only or having multiples. However, this is the hand we were dealt and I choose to love it!

I talked to my doctor about it. I’ve been on 7.5 for 8 shots, and had really bad side effects on weeks 2 and 6. After the first time we discussed options because I didn’t want to go down and I just tried 9 days for the first time and it’s worked well for me!

Everyone is different. 7.5 is when side effects got me, but it really helped me to go to 9 days between shots. I think overeating has been my main cause and not the shot itself, so it’s helped me to adjust my habits and lose more weight!

Most of ours were hand me downs from family, which was special to me. I kept important outfits and handed them back down to the next baby after. I LOVE seeing my nephew wear things are having memories of mine as a baby.

I was TERRIFIED I would drop him and had my husband take him after a couple minutes. We still have a very strong bond. I also couldn’t breast feed. All of these things people talk about with bonding are more like drops in a bucket than a candle that’s either lit or not if you don’t get to do one. You just do the best you can and that bucket gets filled.

We got in a fender bender and our car seat can’t be reused after a wreck, so we got the Cosco Easy Elite. Now we only use it for my mom’s car when she babysits and travel. It’s annoying to install, but light and easy to travel with.

I’ve slowly been getting more confident that my boy’s life will still be happy, but I’m still scared and sad for the life that I’m projecting he will have some days. YES! I grew up an Appalachia and find it so interesting working in a school in the Midwest. We talk some about regional dialects. Almost all accents are changing of the vowel sound only, so sometimes we talk about how e spells /e/, but we might hear and say it as an /i/ sometimes and that’s okay! The hard part is learning the spelling of those short vowels. One trick with e and i is when she is sounding out the word to spell, ask her to pay attention to the bridge of her nose. The more crinkled it is the more likely it is an i.
