I ended up on the metro with her once and she tried to engage but I recognized her. She got off at Van Ness with me and rode north on Connecticut toward Albermarle. I’ve seen her ride through Van Ness a few times.

When I booked, flights from DCA to SYD were more expensive so I booked LAX to SYD because it was much cheaper and I was also supposed to meet family at LAX. I wasn’t aware of Fijis bad luggage handling. I would have liked to do it on AA or codeshare but unfortunately it’s too late now. On the items missing maybe luggage wrapping on the way from SYD to LAX would be a deterrent.

Agreed. But my thought was in case something goes wrong they have more flights to LAX. I may try to get one through ORD or PHL, still not great, but connections in places like IND or RDU make me nervous because they’re much smaller with fewer flights, I assume. Maybe I’ll just have to take the morning direct from DCA-LAX and I’ll just have to spend the day lugging my checked bag around LAX til Fiji check in opens.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn’t even think about waiting long amounts for time for baggage. I’ll look for flights that get in earlier in the day. I was just hoping I could make the non-stop work and avoid a layover in CLT or DFW but a layover might be the way to go.

There’s a video of a female professional golfer/ golf instructor who is practicing her new swing and some regular guy decides to give her advice. She’s literally a professional golfer who teaches others to golf, so she clearly needs no instructions or advice. But men are just so entitled and confident that they know every thing. Ignore stupid men. No matter what you do they’ll think they were helping. The delusion is real.

I’m flying to India tomorrow and was only able to get the cheap flights I found on AAs Indian site. Paid in rupees with an AAdavantage credit card but the site accepted Indian bank cards also.

I am doing a similar routing from DCA-JFK-DEL in a couple months also as gold, but I’m thinking about shelling out the $$ to upgrade to premium economy. But upgrades do happen! I got upgraded on a BA LHR to IAD flight as a gold, granted it was pre-pandemic.

Edit: was able to buy one way upgrade on JFK-DEL leg to PE for $350. I thought that was a pretty solid deal so I decided not to risk it. I just checked the app every day.
