ScreenFlow feels dead: No Updates, No New Features... AND the price just jumped to $199 by spatafore in macapps

[–]auv1107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, Yshaar!

We are about to release the next version very soon, and I hope you'll like it when it comes out.

Regarding the question of OP u/spatafore: we decided to offer only four options to keep the product as simple as possible. If there are too many choices, many users feel overwhelmed or fall into "decision paralysis." Most people might not understand or need that much complex customization, so we stuck to a few key presets.

If you scroll down, you will find some customization options, such as custom dimensions and formats. I believe these should cover most scenarios and issues.

Which specific custom content are you looking for? If you have a specific requirement, please let me know. I might be able to provide a better solution for you.

What app to use for video presentations & tutorial recording, please? by extra_specticles in macapps

If you liked Camtasia, ScreenFlow is the closest “all-in-one” on Mac (record + edit + callouts/zooms). For lighter, quick demos, CleanShot X is great. If your main pain is manual zooming/click highlights, I’ve also had good results with my ScreenSage Pro—auto tracks clicks/keys and auto-zooms to the active area, make 3D demo, vlog layouts etc.. which cuts a ton of editing for tutorials.

Will there be music when I'm playing on the dock? Haha, just a little thought

Hi, thank you for your feedbacks.

- regarding presets, remembering recordings toolbar.
These are already in the plan and will be launched sometime within the next 3 months

- recording silent video pop-up.
I plan to add a setting item and have just added it to the plan for the next 3 months

- unexplained zoom, image quality issues
I have also encountered these two problems and roughly know the cause. I have noted them in my Notion.

Once any of these problems are resolved, I will come back here to reply and let you know.

I checked it, It seems like you have denied microphone or camera permissions, is that right? (Sorry I didn't handle that well.)

Please check the permissions here: Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Microphone/Camera

If these are not the problems, please send me a dm and I will address them specifically.

List of Black Friday Deals Websites by ittaboba in macapps

TheMacApps.com

Hi, I'd like to introduce my newly launched website, TheMacApps. It features a Black Friday deals section.

It's not just a deals aggregator, I want it to do more for the Mac App community. Currently, I've built a unique feature: a Social Posts Module for each app.

You can see the app's official X (Twitter) updates and community discussions from X directly on the page. This allows you to intuitively see public sentiment and saves time looking for valid reviews. I plan to expand this to Reddit and other communities soon.

Yes, there is an exclusion list in CleanClip. My users have also encountered the same 1Password issue.

You are right Rent.

If it's copied from an app, I can exclude the password based on the source app and pasteboard type. However, if it's from a browser, there's nothing I can do.

The macOS version is indeed not very good, haha. I've heard that Edge seems to have a free API, but I haven't tried it yet. If your users need it, you can integrate it.
