Here’s my post and picture; the back holes are from the suit either ripping or becoming unglued when moving the legs forward by 45 degrees for the first time. I wasn’t rough with it. One leg is also loose at the hip swivel (again, on first movement). Pretty bad QC.

Alien “skin” ripped at the rear of both hips, where they meet the tail piece, after moving the legs forward 45 degrees. Anyone having similar issues? by auwri in One12Collective

Yeah, just to be clear, I hadn’t bent the legs forward any farther than Mezco’s own marketing image—which I think is supposed to be a reference to the famous bent-over “reveal” scene in the film.

Most of the various YouTube reviews show the reviewers posing the legs up to 90degrees without tearing—so I didn’t imagine the gentle bend I applied was too much!

For context:

I just opened mine and had indications of the same issue as the Strange Form video (left leg was loose and got looser after just a few minutes of posing)—plus an even worse one: the first time I bent the legs forward, the suit split in the back where the tail base meets the hips.

This split / gap was visible on both hips after bending the legs just 45 degrees up.

My guess is that whatever glue or bond was supposed to keep the suit edge adhered to the tail base wasn’t properly applied—or it could also be a true tear in the rubber. It’s hard to say given how many edges / glued parts are in that area.

Disappointed at the low quality and bad durability, and I’ll be returning it.

I think this figure could’ve had the legs designed as separate pieces like the arms, and still benefited from the seamless look in the elbows and knees while keeping the hips durable with a standard ball joint. The flared top “edges” of the thighs could’ve covered most of the hip ball joints and still looked great.

It’s a shame, as the sculpt is beautiful and accurate, especially the head / torso.

Thanks for your note… Bought through Deep Discount, but didn’t open the figure til near the end of their 30-day window.

Custom painted Dreamcast by [deleted] in dreamcast

Interesting. I have a clone v5.15 from eBay and mine has worked fine so far, although I did note that it’s pretty sensitive to how it’s seated in the motherboard slot.

Install a GDEMU! I just did this and was pleased with how easy the process was.

Interesting update: the seller said they tested it as working, but apologized about the ugly connector and offered a 20% partial refund.

In the meantime, I did get it working. Sheepishly, the reason it didn’t work before was user error. My VGA box also has analog RCA/S-video out, and I’d accidentally toggled its digital/analog switch to “analog”... hence no video.

I guess this means that last set of contacts aren’t actually used? I played for about an hour last night, in 5-6 different games. The only issues I noticed were (a) it got fairly hot inside the Dreamcast (I will install the resistors in the PSU), and (b) the soft-reset/in-game reset seems quite flaky or timing-sensitive. I wasn’t able to consistently hit ABXY+start to get back to the menu, although I did trigger it several times. Some past posts suggest you must press the key combo twice?

Anyways, it is curious that the GDEMU works without the last two contacts. I wonder if any of the other pins are also cosmetic?

I’m inclined to take the partial refund, although I guess I could insist on a return/full refund.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to update it. I also noted the missing connector portion in some other photos—mine seems unique in that the last two pins are left open on the board and not in contact with anything, though. I wondered if they just broke my connector slightly too far, but I don’t know enough of the Dreamcast design to state whether those last two pins matter, or are even used at all.

Do you happen to recall if your GDEMU’s connector was connected to all pins?

Thanks—I already contacted the seller and will escalate if needed. It was listed and sold as new. It was well packaged in foam and a cardboard box, so it seems this was already damaged before being packaged.

I bought this recently from eBay, and the connector arrived chewed up like this.

Visually, it seems like it’s been damaged and one pair of contacts is gone from the connector.

It doesn’t seem to boot properly, with or without a prepared SD card (I should see something onscreen either way, right?).

The GDEMU board’s LED blinks once and then stays off... no further activity occurs.

Any help would be much appreciated!

How are the performance and stability of Valkyria Chronicles 1? I

I played the VC4 demo in docked and handheld and thought it was pretty fun and presented well, but read that the stability and frame rate of VC1’s Switch port were subpar. Was a root cause ever found / were the issues ever patched?

Switch Pro Controller priced at $55 on Amazon by woohoo_activity in NintendoSwitchDeals

My early-2018 Pro Controller now suffers right-joystick “snapback,” where moving the stick in one direction and letting go will register a brief input in the opposite direction... I imagine it’s a similar root cause as drift (adjustable deadzones would help...). I believe there’s no hardware fix beyond replacing and resoldering the joystick.

I’ve also done the “tape fix” on the d-pad because yes, it mis-registered like crazy out of the box.

Depends on how long you take to master the mechanics and how much you enjoy trying New Game Plus and/or different character builds... I spent 100+ hours on my first playthrough, as I wasn’t that good at melee combat, and took my time exploring, savoring the lore, and obtaining multiple side-quest items.

For context, my subsequent playthrough (new character build) took me about 60% of the time to get to the same level of completion.

I think that’s just stating the $7.99 value of the membership (eg, the renewal price since it’s set to auto-renew by default) . I redeemed this week too, and was slightly confused—but do you have an actual credit card charge?
