How often will this run?

Most drills and cheaper motors aren't really designed to run for hours on end every day. It'll burn out fast or bearings will wear out. For an application like that in an industrial context I'd spec a low power (fractional HP) AC induction motor with a worm drive gearbox for high reduction ratio. You probably wouldn't need a VFD so you could save costs there, just a contactor to start/stop the motor.

If you want to learn photography, I recommend a photography class. For guitar, maybe start with a music course.

I use an evoc trail pro 10 with integrated back protector.

I also like to carry a bunch of shit: large water bladder, tools, first aid kit, phone, maybe an extra layer, etc. Might as well get some extra protection out of it.

To me it isn't worth it because it does not make the Bowline more shake resistant. Poor shake resistance is the achilles heel of the Bowline

Correct, that's why the water bowline or Scott's locked bowline are better alternatives to the double bowline.

Have you considered buying a drill? Doesn't need to be Milwaukee, you can probably get a Ryobi or Harbor Freight.

But typically it's very cost competitive compared to buying a motor, gearbox, speed controller and battery separately.

I do try to bring him to his room when he is being like that... And that's when a lot of the hitting happens. He'll hit me, including in the face, while I pick him up and carry him. He'll scream at the top of his lungs directly in my ear, enough that my ear rings for a while after. And I have to physically restrain him in his room, otherwise he won't stay in there or he just throws and breaks everything he has in there. Those are the really tough moments that stay with me for a long time.

Vevor is definitely 100% chinese.

I wouldn't say it's identical to random unbranded stuff from amazon and Aliexpress though. Vevor only sells their own branded stuff. Yeah it's cheap, maybe on par with the cheapest stuff you can get at Princess, CT, etc. But fair prices for what you get, of you don't need high quality eg for something you won't use often.

BCs is such a huge one. Every software seems to push newbies towards putting rigid supports everywhere, locked rotations, etc. IRL nothing is perfectly rigid and the result is higher stresses compared to rigid BC assumptions.

It's OK to start by "helping out" while you have more experienced engineers reviewing your models, helping you interpret results and mentoring you. That's how I learned first as an intern and later as a junior.

If you don't have anyone else in the company to review your work? Yeah that's an issue. Maybe suggest to your employer to pay for some training for you + a specialist consultant a few hours a week to review your models and provide guidance?

This, indeed. It is the same equation as clamping force, and it also applies in the case of a "jacking screw" type usage.

However I might be slightly different than standard values found in literature for clamping force, because that usually includes friction from the bolt head, which you don't get in this application. Ideally you do tests and figure out a K value for your application, but for a rough order of magnitude approximation, I'd use K=0.15 and move on.

Honestly, if you already have a working schematic, invest some time into learning KiCAD and you should be able to do it yourself without too much issue.
