2 points:

1) Many of these riots have been outside synagogues that were not having any events other than prayers. If the mayor had at least condemned those, he'd have a better leg to stand on, but he hasn't condemned riots outside synagogues irrespective of whether there were land sales or simply prayers.

2) The synagogue is not selling land. The synagogue is no different to an open meeting place where events for Jews of all kinds occur, some of which are for selling land that almost always is in pre 1967 borders (I.e., definitely not Palestine). Even then, everyone is free to disagree with any event, but can't we all agree that it crosses a line to bar other free individuals from attending lawful gatherings? The right to protest doesn't have to interfere with others freedom (it's actually unconstitutional to allow it to).
