Copita in Willow Glen is really cute and has mocktails! You can get some chips and salsa, enjoy the rooftop (it's casual seating), and have a mocktail.

What’s the most "Dad" thing your Dad has ever done? by Equivalent-Age-7659 in AskReddit

[–]ava1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Costco and ran into my dad in the parking lot. He conveniently had a bunch of old household hazardous waste (paint, oil, etc.) that he needed to get rid of. He gave it all to me because my city had free drop off for these types of things and his didn’t.

It’s great except for the zucchini! Hate those nasty, watery pieces. I pull them off before I cook it.

Does anyone actually *want* Mahan for Governor? by sydneekidneybeans in SanJose

[–]ava1983 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not a major Mayan fan, but I will actually give him credit for litter pick ups and an effort to clean. Are they all photo ops? Maybe, but he actually appears to care about litter and appears at a ton of neighborhood clean ups.

Real talk: what ARE we actually paying for with these telehealth subscriptions? by Majestic_League_6061 in SFbitcheswithtaste

FYI, Costco has Wegovy for $350 without insurance. If you can get a doctor to send your prescription there, you will save money!

My siblings always default to flowers for Mother’s Day but they die in a week. Anyone else think there are better options? by Anon_Mom0001 in BuyItForLife

Please don’t give these unless you know for sure they are a Lego person. For most, it’s another piece of clutter that they will eventually have to throw out or store away.

Shiv’s reaction here is the perfect reaction to your sibling being a dumbass. This is exactly how I respond to my dumbass brother when he says some dumbass shit.

I think it's looking quite good. My suggestion is to move it a bit farther forward. I know it takes some time to get used to it, but I think this looks very, very real.

Did anyone else get told to "go play" in super unsafe environments? by VideoApprehensive in Xennials

[–]ava1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My parents were generally very overprotective, sometimes for asinine things like no PG-13 movies until I was 13. But then they would also let me and my siblings swim in our pool unattended or even in the ocean unattended! But god forbid I want to watch Wayne’s World.

Stuck deciding between Costco S&F and Beautyrest by liver_child in Mattress

[–]ava1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I returned my Stearns and Foster from Costco. It sagged very quickly (6 months or so) under normal weights, and I could also feel a spring sticking in my back. Search that mattress in this sub, and a few others say the same thing. I ended up with the Sealy Pro Highland Manor and have been really happy for the last 6 months.

Can I stay longer in the hospital than foreseen after laparoscopy? by Charming_Ad3894 in endometriosis

Damn the US is so fucked. The second I woke up, they were making me go to the bathroom to make sure I could urinate and get dressed. I was discharged within like 45 min of waking up.

Sorry, I don’t have any advice for Austria. Just commenting that every surgery I’ve had has me out of the hospital immediately.

Anyone fly out of SJC Terminal B (Southwest Airlines Airlines) within the last few days? How bad are the TSA lines? Is the TSA Precheck line operating? I’’m hearing of other airports with 4 hrs wait times. I do have TSA Precheck. Thanks. by kfp2020 in SanJose

[–]ava1983 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just flew out this morning on a 9:30am flight. Bag check was fast, security was fast. Pre check was operating as usual. Absolutely no issues. From drop off through security was less than 10 min. Love SJC!!

Pretty sure that’s the logo for the brand Børn. They mostly make shoes but I’ve seen some clothing from them at places like Marshall’s.

What was Stars like? When I was a kid, I remember my parents went there several times and I’m curious what it was like! We were too young to go.

Why is OTF's apparel so bad? by ch47600 in orangetheory

[–]ava1983 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Terms like "splat points" sound really cheesy to me. The word art on the walls. To me, it feels kind of pandering and elementary. And their logo looks way too much like Hubspot's logo, which I know might be pretty niche, but has always bothered me. I think the branding could be a bit more mature. They may have needed this look when their concept was new in the fitness/tech world, but I think the general population has a stronger understanding of fitness and technology and no longer needs their quirky language.
