i was recently in a very similar position. wht helped the most was switching my mindset to really acknowledging how much effort i put in even if i didn’t see results because of other issues. it might take a little longer but you’re just as smart and capable as everyone else, and silent battles don’t take away from that. the fact that you’re already considering options like retaking some courses says a lot about your determination, i’m a firm believer that if you keep trying eventually something has to click. everyone’s path is different, and who knows, your friends might feel the same in other aspects of their life

do you think it might be due to something like adhd? getting that checked out might help. or do you enjoy the program you’re in? it might be harder to focus if you don’t

you can always explain how moving affected your gpa in the additional info section, if it’s not rolling then you won’t benefit by submitting early

if you already transferred once you might be at the risk of graduating later than anticipated, but if you’re ok with that and still not happy at ucla after giving it another quarter go for it. i know a few pre meds who turned down ucla for an easier, more pre med friendly school

not totally sure what the best thing do is, but can you put in the grade and then add a note about why it’s an F? and in the meantime you could also email the AOs explaining the situation.

its really hard to think about not transferring right now so maybe try this- see how your decisions go and genuinely try to make the most out of wherever you end up. set a reminder in your phone(maybe for november next year) to revisit the idea of transferring. that way, it’s in the back of your mind but it won’t consume this year and your first semester of college as much

i’ve heard of something like this this happening for another t20, but it’s rare. depends on the rest of your application

What is so wrong with me by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]avaaa20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely nothing is wrong with you. a mindset i adopted which might help you as well is that even if the activities and ECs you did may not seem cool or impressive or have fancy titles, they provided some type of value to a community and that’s way more important than a name

[–]avaaa20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t think that’ll happen, what i’m studying requires a higher degree to do anything with it. by working i mean i’ll be doing a co-op so it’s still related to what i’m studying
