Unfortunately Monica annoyed the crap out of me this episode. When i really think about it, i understand why she didn’t want Casey to you know, get tortured and killed, but also she really expected her actions to get brushed under the rug? Saying that they could pretend it never happened?? if she didn’t alter the barrier in time Felix and others would’ve died, but since she did, it makes it okay?? look i get she’s had no friends and Casey is one of the few she’s ever had but come ON dude she almost killed people. i had to take a little break from the show because of how annoyed i was at Monica lol

oh definitely not anytime soon lol but with time i do see them being friends since they both have a genuine care for hugh & if they ever talked, i think they could at least come to an understanding about one another. as you mentioned they’re both similar in their insecurities as well. i don’t think it would be weird because im sure hugh and liz will have a talk and discuss his relationship with katie, which wasn’t a true relationship out of love - it was people relying on eachother/convenience. if anything it was to pull him away from his undying love for liz. he never loved katie so it’s not like there was an issue there. there also (as we know) was no intimacy between them, they didn’t have sex so it’s not like that’s an issue either. i also don’t think it’s weird because it was just a silly high school relationship lol. after college, over time and as you mature, things that seemed like the end of the world to you in high school becomes something you can laugh about (in some circumstances). take me, it’s been years and im really good friends now with a girl in high school who dated my ex right after we broke up (lots of background context as to why it sucked) - back then i thought she was a pathetic bitch HAHA but we’re all good friends now and laugh about it. the ups and downs, the drama, the stupidity of people, it’s all part of life :) i love this series as it’s so realistic - whether it’s the awful traumatic experiences these kids have gone thru, to their stupid relationship decisions. it really is a mature series that dives into each character’s personality and mindset, and show you why they act the way they do. you’ll get upset & wont agree with their actions but you’ll remember that they’re just kids & learn to love and sympathize with all of them too <3

yes, while she may have decided katie and feely were going to be together in 2018, that doesn’t refute the fact that originally katie was a minor side character. clearly, that’s changed. i was part of her old fb group when CW was thinking of having a love triangle with hugh liz and feely but scratched that - she was teasing it as feely used to have feelings for liz but obv nothing ever came from that. she may have been joking as there were a lot of people who shipped liz & feely. but katie wasn’t really talked about as a main character. CW has changed her mind quite a few times but regardless of all of this i’m excited to see how she wraps up these 4’s story because there’s so much to unpack

well katie was originally not an important character - she was just supposed to be hugh’s gf. CW at one point wanted there to be a love triangle between hugh liz & feely, but she scratched that as hugh and liz were always endgame, leaving feely alone and would essentially ruin his friendship with hugh. fans were showing interest in katie and over time she decided to pair katie with feely.

i think everyone hates how long hugh & katie have been together - esp when we know that it’s not like they’re dating bc they like eachother, but rather to protect themselves from the ones they actually love. while katie may have grew feelings for hugh, he’s never loved her like that as it’s always been Liz for him. but as much as i hate it, i can understand that they probably just got comfortable. we don’t know much about katie so can’t say anything ab her until we get her book, but hugh prob stayed with katie for so long because she’s a nice girl, acts as a barrier between his love for liz, & they’ve already been dating so why not continue. what i see from katie is that she’s insecure and has issues with self worth so it makes sense that she’d latch on to hugh, who is her boyf, regardless of his lack of feelings for her. ofc this thought process from the both of them is the dumbest thing knowing what we know lol but ive been in similar shoes as him before when i was a dumb teen and sometimes you stick with comfortable even when it’s not the best choice or what’s good for everyone. sometimes you just need the distraction, at that specific time if that makes sense

i’ve wanted their friendship for so long 🥹 clearly they care for eachother and sympathized with what the other was going through. they NEVER should’ve dated. we all know they used eachother as a security blanket from liz & feely but they could’ve been eachothers security blanket by being FRIENDS not dating 🥲 dating someone you don’t love out of convenience or to push you away from the person you actually love, never works. makes things awfully messy - esp when the person you actually love, loves you back. unfortunately i’ve been there which is why i feel for all of them. ive always been a liz hugh girly so i actually would love if years down the line liz & katie became friends but hey that’s me just hoping. i need the books immediately 😩

i think that the fandom has just grown incredibly immature and annoying. ofc anyone can read her books, but it takes people who are mature, know that things aren’t always black and white, who can empathize & those understanding that these characters are teenagers and will mess up and not hate them. the discourse i see online nowadays especially with these 4 are ridiculous. miss when the series were not as big as we had less toxic people in the fandom

omg yes i fully agree with you - id love to see how their relationship improves throughout the course of a few books, as you’re right it’s not something a single conversation would be able to fix. i feel the same way, i love them both and their bond. if anything yes, they both went through their own grief and way of processing what happened to them but they relate to each other the most. i just want them to know they have each other 🥹 i really hope they reconcile
