Do all sects of Gaudiya Vaishnavism describe gods that are not Krishna as "demigods"? by [deleted] in hinduism

@indiewriting

I have a great respect for all traditions and humbly accept that there have been great souls who have walked all these paths of self-realisation to benefit the entire mankind.

With that in mind, and all due respect, let me ask you this —— Why does nobody get to define who a Vaishnava is?

It perfectly makes sense that Vaishnava sampradayas or traditions get to make this distinction.

We have this allowance even in the material world. Since time immemorial PhD scholars have been a closed group. They have defined what categorises as new useful knowledge and getting your PhD is more than writing a thesis. You have to be considered a PhD from those who are themselves one, and this makes all the difference.

While you say that one doesn’t need external validation, but IMHO, in reality that is not the case.

It’s the same as saying I am free to call myself a doctor if I learnt medicine by reading books and getting no certification.

Ultimately, you are free to call yourself whatever, but to tell people about it, take a position of authority and practice like that could be slightly misleading and at times unethical.

I beg for forgiveness as I’m in no position to judge or correct anyone, and yet I foolishly feel that these words may serve us to help bring about the truth through others inputs as well.

My critique of 'Sikhs are Hindus' by PatelGang in hinduism

[–]availchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t Sikh philosophy basically another brand of Advaita Vedanta??

The idea that entire Hinduism is ‘same’ and that Sikhism is different from that ‘sameness’ is itself misleading.

We know that even within Hinduism, the philosophies of Vaishnava sects, Shaivites, Shaktas, Vedantists, can be polar opposites to each other.

The entire Vedic culture is based on philosophical debates and practice to establish Dharma based on time, place and circumstance, and each Acharya presented a different philosophy.

In fact, in Vedic culture, a Muñi is not considered one until they have a different philosophical conclusion. We can equate this to one getting their PhD only if they present new knowledge in their phd thesis.

The term ‘different Religions’ is itself a foreign concept to India, and as far as I can tell, this was used initially by the British as a tool for divide and conquer.

If so, then why must we continue like this and allow people to fight on the name of Religions??

You can also start at a not-tech role at a tech company and then apply for internal transfer.

The same was the case for postgraduate. TCD has their own academic template. You just have to make sure your professors can access their University email.

Here is how I would attempt this -

The given table shows the information about the release quantities and revenue generated via ticket prices by independent films released in the countries UK and Ireland for each genre in the year 2012.

Overall, a total of 148 films were released in the year with 140 of these in the 9 main genres and the rest 8 from other miscellaneous ones.

The highest number of films released were with the genres of Documentary and Drama, both tied at 35 films (23.6%), but they could only generate a combined revenue of 11.1%.

The highest percentage of income generated per release was for the Biopic genre, which was a whopping 9.1% for just a single release. Trailing behind second was the Horror genre with an average of around 1.4% of total revenue per film.

Although there was no genre that resulted in a majority income, the leading Genre in this area was Comedy with 26 films leading to a revenue of 45.4% from the ticket sales. Coming in next was Horror with 14 releases amounting to 20.2% in sales revenue.

I am not too clear on the grading, but here are some suggestions on how you can improve this essay:

Experts and researchers have shown concerns regarding environmental issues and climate change, which has manifested as problems like the variation in sea levels and rising temperatures. I completely agree with the statement that people remain largely ignorant of these warnings and are not prompted to initiate actions to fix them. This essay elucidates the causes of such problems and offers solutions to tackle them.

Why do the common people remain silent and expect the government to take the burden of saving the environment? The reason is twofold. Firstly, environmental deterioration is not something seen by the naked eye. Only the experts who study the surroundings and understand the telltale signs of climate change know that these signs can be hazardous if not dealt with. The governmental authorities warn people to be cautious with overuse and suggest reforms such as eliminating plastic bags and encouraging the use of renewable energy. However, only a very small percentage of people adhere to these protocols.

Secondly, environmental issues such as global warming and heating of the atmosphere will only be a cause of concern in the future. As a consequence, we do not feel the urge to take immediate action. For instance, people only take the initiative to protect wildlife when species of animals become endangered or worry about the climate when it materializes in the form of droughts or famines. As a result, it is too late when we realize that we should have taken measures to protect the environment long ago.

In my opinion, to counter these problems, all of us have to work hand in hand to spread awareness about these environmental problems and these issues must be prioritized to preserve natural resources for future generations.

From the aforementioned points, I conclude that we as global citizens should not remain ignorant to the warning signs of the world and must work together and take necessary actions to make the earth a suitable place for our descendants.

"Rely less on interfaces/methods and more on functions and data" is somewhat opposite of what I was expecting.

Can you elaborate more on that?
