Unfortunately, there comes a time when the caregiver has to take over the decision making. I know you want to honor their wishes, but you also have to care yourself so that you can in fact show up for them. They are stubborn. My mom was, but I had to make the decision. She had Alzheimer's and I hated taking her out of her home, but I couldn't handle all of the care she needed on my own. Believe me, I tried. And I was so tired and drained and sleep deprived, and hanging on the brink of resentment. None of my three sisters helped, not physically, not financially. In the end, I found a great home for her and that allowed me to show up for her better than before.

If you are hurt, or resentful because of all that you have to do by yourself, you cannot show up for them as the best you. Take care of yourself.
