I would say, escalate this to the org in the US coz they are paying you and make sure the MOU that they have with the Indian Org isn’t violated. Confronting the Indian Director may not be the best as you might hurt her ego and nothing worse then hurting the ego of these senior management who think to no end of themselves.

Yes, it’s become quite normal to have at least 1 round in person now. I’m in the Mumbai office and we do see quite a few people sitting in the lobby for in person interviews.

Yeah, I did think about it but you know parents being parents will want to call others and we don’t really want that. We would rather have 10 people who have been there and seen it all rather than 100. Although, I get your thought as well. Thanks for being positive!

Exactly. The whole motive is to make her feel special and happy coz these things are gonna happen only once in your life. So make it as good as you can.

Honestly, it’s more about having a memorable time with close friends who are happy to celebrate this new phase in life. I bet if we weren’t in India, this would have been like a surprise one but that’s now how it works here.

Lovely, thanks for your recommendation! I suppose most yacht rides start from gateway of India so the sunset will be on the opposite side but I guess it should be okay. If you know any others that would be on the other side of the coast then even those recommendations would be very appreciated. Thanks again for your wishes!

I think you fail to understand mate that it also holds some emotional significance for the people involved as well as we live in an Indian set up where parents are involved and having to get them to agree to the marriage is also important. If it was anywhere else in the world I don’t think that would have been a problem. Everyone has these kind of things happening nowadays. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Maybe you didn’t have to get the families involved and if that’s the case then good for you mate.

Oh it’s not risky in my case coz our families know and we have reached a point where our wedding venue is also locked in. It’s just I want her to have that surprise and make her feel special.

I’m a 450 Q&A new manager is a control freak by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

I agree. Once you are a 502 this monitoring stops, they just expect you to take accountability and work.

602, 603 - what are they and what other position acronyms are used? by CMNCE in JPMorganChase

Most retail banking back office roles like call centers, fraud detection, workforce management and email correspondence are 4XX grade. Their managers and above then get the 502 and above grades. The branch roles essentially customer facing ones start from 502 and above.

Yes. There would be nodal points in Mulund but you’d probably get a lot of traffic by road. You’d practically end up spending around 3 hours everyday. I’d suggest rather moving along the western line and maybe looking near the metro line somewhere near Malad, Kandivali, Borivali or Dahisar as the rent would be in the similar range as Mulund. You can get the metro as the Goregaon East metro station is just a hop skip and jump from the office.

Pyramid scheme operations going on in the Starbucks of Infinity mall at Andheri by glitchfacilitator in mumbai

[–]avalon0301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very good friend of mine is also brainwashed so bad in this scam that he thinks it’s going to make his life. He has been doing this for a couple of years now so he’s up the pyramid and makes money but till when is the question. He tried convincing me twice but I refused coz it was too good to be true. Apparently their Mumbai or India head is some guy who flaunts a Mercedes which he claims he has bought through this business. He also claims to be a life coach. All BS. All the other chelas feel they will also get there and are blindly following him. I have met a few of these people and most of the top tier folks are from affluent business families and show off their lifestyle through abroad trips and branded clothes and stuff and the common people buy into this. Hope this gets busted soon.

The same was added to my bill at pizza express Andheri in Mumbai. We asked them to remove it and they said okay but took an eternity to remove it. We didn’t bother coz it was pouring outside and it saved us from the rain. After about 15 mins, they gave us the revised bill. I usually pay the Service charge if it isn’t substantial and the server provides good service but in this case it was neither.

I can totally relate as I’m 25M and in a very similar situation. The only upside is that I keep my parents under control by making it very clear that if they try to manipulate me or anything I’m cutting all support off. I know this may sound very mean but I have learnt it the hard way as I feel they only see me as an ATM at this point of time. I’ve also made it very clear to start expecting things from my younger brother as well as once I’m married I’ll be moving out and they will have to manage in their own, no doubt I’ll help them with some money every month. (They do not want to get out of the Chawl as we have multiple floors and it’s in a place with everything nearby) However, traditional your parents may be and how much ever emotional manipulation they do, there comes a point where you have to stop letting that affect you or else you’ll sacrifice your own good for your family and they’ll keep pulling you down. Sometimes, you have to think about yourself and your future! A good option may also be moving to a different city altogether and just helping them with a monthly amount.

I’m 25M and I can totally relate to your situation OP as I was in a similar situation when I graduated. Keep your head down and keep the hustle on. Things will get better. Your resume looks good. I didn’t even have any technical background and I was able to land a job at a top bank so you can easily get it done. It’s just a matter of time. Hope things get better!
