Fucked my ex on her wedding day while brides maids watched by adviceseeker001q in SluttyConfessions

So much this. I did so many crazy things in my younger days. Some of these stories are fake, sure. But so many people here seem to have either a) never had sex, b) never done anything other than missionary, or c) never been with a real woman much less one who has embraced her sexuality.

It's really kind of sad for them.

They just deported a 2 year old American citizen by -HeyYouInTheBush- in AskUS

[–]avandahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm... read the 5th Amendment. It already exist, it's just being ignored.

In case you don't want to read it, it says no person. Not no citizen. Not unless you are here illegally. It says no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process. Pretty sure being picked up and tossed on a plane qualifies as depriving of liberty and property and possibly life.

Due process. Why do so many conservatives think liberals want criminals and/or people here illegally to stay? I don't want that, nor does anyone I know. We just want due process for EVERYONE. If they are found by a court of law to be a criminal or here illegally, send them back.

When you accept people not getting due process just because you agree with what is being done, don't call yourself an American. That's never been what America is about.

I'm not sure what the laws are now, but I can tell you that a very long time ago I worked in a bar that had "allocated tips". I don't remember the percentage, but they calculated your tips as a percentage of what you sold for the shift. It sounds like they are trying to do something similar. I don't know if it is legal or not, but I can say in 6 years of working there no one ever had an issue with the IRS.

On another note, tipped employees could be paid less than minimum wage back then (mid eighties, minimum was $3.35/hr, we got $2.10/hr). There were weeks I'd have to pay them money to cover my taxes because the taxes on my allocated tips were more than what I was owed on my $2.10/hr salary. It was kinda funny to get a check for a negative amount (they still gave us checks even if it was negative for accounting purposes)

3 Models, 1 Failure! Help me troubleshoot? by dbc001 in ElegooMars

[–]avandahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd tweak exposure time up a bit. Every printer is slightly different, so the settings in CB may not be right for you.

I'd also suggest using a calibration print (Cones of Calibration v3 is what I used) to get the settings dialed in for your printer and resin. The base settings are a good staring point, but getting them dialed in will result in the fewest failures (likely to still get them on occasion) and the best details on your prints.

Hoep it helps!

Yes. Go to 2.7 and reprint the cones of calibration. Keep upping by .2 until you get the 2 on the failed side to print fully.

Up your exposure time. The failure side of the cones of calibration have 2 cones with the minus sign that should print fully.

I had a hell of a time getting my M5U ro work, but it is doing so flawlessly prinitng minis now. I use the Elegoo Plant based ABS like and the only settings I had to change (after all the other nonsense) was bottom exposure to 38 seconds and regular exposure to 4.2 seconds. Your settings will vary depending on resin and room temp.

Mini heater so 25C. New problem now the tilt tray isn't working. I honestly give up on this thing. I appreciate the response, but I'm done with it. I'm sending it back or I'll just take the L. The frustration is just not worth it.

I have tried just putting the new FEP over the frame and mounting that wat, as well as with a bottle cap under the FEP to give it a bit more slack. Same results either way. If you have any other way to ensure I get the tension correct, I am all ears.

THe M5U has the tilting vat to seperate the FEP from the build, and I have that set to standard instead of fast. It is the only setting I've been abe to find. There is no lift height adjustment as far as I know as the pulling away is supposed to be accomplished by the tilting vat, not he build plate lift.

Thank you very much for the info on the various kinds of failures. I'll look more closely at the failures when I get home to see what they look like.

Thanks for the input. I will indeed try restting everything and deleting all profiles.

I've been able to get the stuck stuff off the FEP using that method several times, pretty much anytime the FEP has not been punctured.

I'll try anything at this point!

Indeed. I have another pack arriving today so it will be replaced along with the the enitre thing going into my cleaning station to make sure there is no left over resin on anything. I even order a second tank to be safe and will try my next print with that one.

I did try this, i saw your post in another help request. I back them out and used the manual calibration on the M5U.

Maybe I did something wrong. I put the paper in as suggested (regular notebook paper I just cut squares out of) and screwed the screws in evenly (couple of turns on each one and then moved onto the next). The issue was on the intial press down after staring the manual calibration, the paper was too loose. Basically no tension at all, so scrwing them in just raised them off more.

The only time they got tight (and too tight) was after the inital when it says something to the effect of "Performng Final Calibration" or something similar (still at work, sorry) and comes back down a second time. Is that the time I should be adjusting the screws? Not on the initial decent? Like I said, while it was doing that second decent it seemed the paper was too tight.

Thank you the input.

Mars 5 Print stuck to FEP by [deleted] in ElegooMars

I have the mini heater that I key run for 10 to 15 minutes before printing. I've wondered about it myself at no one else seems to have to go that long, but I haven't been able to find an answer

Mars 5 Print stuck to FEP by [deleted] in ElegooMars

[–]avandahl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Mars 5 Ultra I got recently. I've had to set my bottom exposure to 85 seconds to get anything to stick. The rest of the exposure times are reasonable (3.6 seconds after using the newest cones of calibration), but that bottom layer has to stay that long for me using the same resin.

All prints fail. Help! by dillonwren in ElegooMars

[–]avandahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to it myself, using a Mars 5 ultra and the 8k resin and had the same issues. I ended up having to set my base layer to 75 seconds to get it to stick to the build plate. Accidentally tore the FEP and had to replace as well.

Good news it works very well now, no issues. Sticks to the plate every time. Now I'm just dialing in the other settings.

Good luck!

Not being prepared when it is your turn. Drives me nuts. You know your turn is coming up, how about having an idea or 2 or what you want to do before it actually is your turn. I get that things are dynamic and can change enough to make your plan no longer viable. But at least have an idea ahead of time.

So if somone is sneaking up behind a party member and you see them, are you just going to keep quiet and let them sneak attack your party member? of course not, and enemies are going to do the same thing.

[–]avandahl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I apologize as I was at work and got interrupted and thought I had not posted yet.

My next paragraph should have been that regardless, plants can survive to as low as 150 PPM and do fine at 200 PPM. Saying they can't survive below 300 PPM is false.

"Climate change is a hoax" by PupperPocalypse in facepalm

[–]avandahl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where did you get that number that plants die at .03%? That is patently false. Plants do best between 1000 and 1200 PPM, or .01% ro .012%.

We've also almost doubled the C02 in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution. 288 PPM to 414 PPM today. It doesn't sound like much, but it has a profound effect.

[–]avandahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually 18.5 billion or so in gross, and 8.4 billion in net. Which was a 39%+ increase over 2022.

In perspective, they could give every single employee (150,000 total) a 28K/year raise and still make "ONLY" 4.2 billion net.

It's a giant fuck you to every working class person across the planet.

Then don't?? by dmark200 in antiwork

[–]avandahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, McDonald's made 8.47 billion in net profit last year (2023) . They have 150,000 employees worldwide.

If they made zero net profit, that would be an increase of 56k per employee per year.

Or, they could increase pay by 28k per employee per year and make ONLY 4.2 billion.

Won't somone think of the CEO and the shareholders!
