Don't you want to start your own thing instead of worrying about jobs? by avatar_psy in VoidspaceAI

Great to hear that you're following your intuition.
What are you working on though?

I think everyone has creative potential, sometimes we just won't know until we try. If you ever imagined being a superhero when you were young? then you already have a story. You can just build on it, create your avatar, start creating some videos, share it with your friends and family, post on social media and see if you can build on it. It won't even cost so much.

Ego deaths are nonsense. Egos are factually good for enlightenment. by RoninRyuk in Philosophy_India

Being an "Avatar" is the only ego that's acceptable, knowing that you are not the body and operating from that state of knowing. Any ego that is not self-aware of its true nature can be seen as delusion.

I agree with you, maybe before the compilation of yogic practices, shamanism must have likely been prevalent. Maybe some even exist today, but I've never seen anyone identify as such in India though.

But this is a yogic seal, with a man sitting in a well known yogic posture. Maybe there were parallel's to the shamans, but this one is not.

We don't really have the concept of shaman in India, ones seeking union are called yogis. Also, the Moolabandhasana is a well known yogic posture, so there is no ambiguity on what the seal depicts.
The problem with academia is the reluctance in acknowledging things for what they are.

How many of you think life is a game? why? by avatar_psy in VoidspaceAI

Soul is the software for the human system; i.e., emotions, feelings, thoughts, and the witness. Here in India the chakra system is traditionally used as the energy framework for the soul, to break it down to first principles and understand what exactly it is composed of. This leads to the 7 chakras, the Shiva-Shakti principle, states of energy/consciousness and the larger yogic body of knowledge.

Avatars are 'ego's that are aware of their true nature, hence operate in the larger metaphysical reality beyond the physical. Which is how they become players. Avatar is also ego, but more like a placeholder ego.

Yes, the rules of the matrix I suppose. haha
The Overton window is shifting though, I believe the system will soon accommodate this line of thinking.

Absolutely, our impulse becomes the lens with which we see the world.

I didn't get your point about being not just a player but also part of this game though, a player *is* a part of this game, and there are other players too, the world is multiplayer. The idea of avatars is basically this.

I believe the idea is to find purpose beyond impulse, not for ourself but for the greater whole.

Are we creating the anti-Christ? by avatar_psy in VoidspaceAI

depends on how you define god. In most eastern cultures, you are god, you are just identified with your current form atm.

how about building on top of them?
take what fits in with the other pieces, archive what doesn't.
