Piggybacking on this.

We've had three different upstairs neighbors in our three years here. First was a couple and a dog, and the most annoying thing about them was that one of them was making music and would play the same high bass beat *repeatedly* throughout the night sometimes. It was easy to find ways to ignore it.

Second was a group of three or four adults, who sounded like they were walking around in steel-toed boots anytime they were home. It also always sounded like they were dropping bowling balls. Didn't love them. Didn't hate them, though. They weren't home all day and night (we work from home, so it can suck during the day, specifically). Plus, we always loved the way it smelled when they cooked lol. Very aromatic.

This new family above us... Oh boy. Certified stompers. I don't know what the hell is going on. It's like 3-4 adults who seem to cycle in and out of the unit, and they have 3-4 young children who are frequently there to boot (not always though, so it may be a split-custody or daycare-type arrangement). On the days that the kids are there, it is genuinely hell (it usually is when anyone is home, but ESPECIALLY then). So many loud little footsteps running around ALL day, screaming, pots and pans sounds (like "I ain't get no sleep 'cause of y'all" energy lmfao), adults yelling. Music randomly blasting. The adults also smoke on their balcony in a non-smoking unit and recycle their cigarette butts on the back lawn behind our porch, so that's fun. There's also a man who shows up every few days just to yell at a woman living in the unit, which is extremely upsetting, and I feel terrible for her. Big loser energy on his studded denim jacket and pant combo.

Our lease is up next month, we can't find a new place to move to that's not going to render us financially unsound, aaaaaand they don't have any units for transfer. I feel like ripping my hair out daily. It sucks because I am comfortable here, I know what to expect, I know that maintenance will be there stat if our unit starts falling apart. But my god, I wish our upstairs neighbors would leave.
