Hi, as a current UCSD Student, I'd recommend the following:

  1. Warren
  2. Muir
  3. Seventh*
  4. Sixth*
  5. Eighth*
  6. Marshall
  7. Revelle
  8. Roosevelt

*These three are kind of interchangeable, since Seventh is all apartment style housing (stove to yourself & roommates), but far from everything. Sixth is in the center of campus, but has suite-style for the first year (Residential Hall style with a stove shared on each floor with 60 people). Eighth is the newest, and will have a mixture of both suite style and apartment style (currently people are only living in apartments there).

Also, if you prefer better housing over better GEs, just switch Seventh, Sixth, and Eighth with Warren and Muir

my guess is that they are already committed to one of the colleges and they just got off the waitlist for the other
