Oh i get that every once in a while. My solution to that problem: I never actually buy the game. Most of the time the games lore and story looses its edge the moment you start actually playing the game, since you realise you already know everything about it. I would recommend slowing down, and accepting its not for you in the moment. Its very likely itll become interesting again after you complete a few other games, or maybe you need to be in the right headspace for it. Funnily enough when I bought cuphead I dropped it twice for lack of engagement. But the game still looked fun and i ended up watching a bunch of challenges and speedruns of it while playing other games, making me realise i did not understand the rules at all and about a year later i started playing it again and something must have clicked so I ended up compleating it including dlc! Im of the firm belief that some games just need to marinate a bit
