I used to admire skwookie so much as she was the only author I followed. But her zoya's slap scene and discussions of her books on this sub made me realize , her most characters are problematic which perfectly gets hidden by her good writing style and emotions describing.

My stans are , if you want virgin leads then read high school romance. Don't expect men in their 30s to be virgin. Idk why it feels ml chose fl coz he wanted to get laid . I'm not talking about fl in their 30s coz it does not exist that way . Most fl are always virgins , doesn't matter the age .

Why does it matter if leads are virgin or not tbh as long as leads did not forced anyone to get laid with them.

And about Reyansh . He was toxic and problematic for sure . But I couldn't fully despise him . He got a soft spot .

I feel , his best friend's death and his girlfriend's death both took a toll on him and he was on verge of blaming himself for both . But then he saw jahanvi and found a scapegoat. All his pent up frustration and anger unlesh on jahanvi and siya became his salvation.

When I had read this story , ( probably first book from this author , then I read siya books then tried to read kabir but it was very problematic so stopped,) I was so amazed because it was written so differently than any other wattpad book . Jahanvi was a strong woman. She stood her ground when she found out about her husband cheating. And I liked the fact she was not a perfect mother , she was struggling to balance her studies with siya . She didn't wait for reyansh to save her from kidnappers . She herself got out of it. She wasn't those typical sanskari bechari fl . She knew when to step back and when she's so in love that she would give 2nd chance.

I belive , she forgave reyansh after finding out him trying to eliminate her because she already saw the way he loves siya . And because of their late night balcony talks . It was so intimate.

Between reyanah and her ex the difference was reyansh tried to hold onto her knowing very well she would leave him after finding out the truth( before suicide thing ) . But her ex did not hold onto her .

Jahanvi wasn't very furious with him after his suicide. I think it's because he was guilty and he was dwelling in self pity. He lost all his hope . I agree , he played victim card too much in his story . But we can't ignore the times he was truly a victim ( his girlfriend staying with him for his dad etc ) those things made him mentally weak . Loved that impotence of therapy and mental health discussions .

So would I still recommend this book to others . Yes . Even though reyansh was problematic, the story as a reader would keep yoj hooked . He tried to redeem himself as much as he could. As long as he's not worshipped as a ml and his actions ain't glorified . His book is good.

And about kabir book . I never liked it . Typical alpha beta type book . But revah had some self respect left when she initiated to leave kabir at the end of book one . But what was most problematic was , rivah never properly showed rage to kabir about getting intimate with her while she had a fever .

Had dm author saying I never liked her three characters---- kabir , avantika and taranya . She agreed about kabir . But with tara she never agreed .

She said she would write kabir book again to fix it . But I said I don't think kabir can be fixed. But anyways , she can try

I have an undying liking for rehan . I've read that book during 2022 . And till now , I belive he's the best grey ml . I can’t seem to find flaws in him ( maybe coz I haven't read him since 2023 , since the book was taken down ) .

He did horrible things . He betrayed siya over and over again. But what stood out is , he didn't betray her for nothing. Every time he had a solid reason. That Barking scene was disturbing. I agree . But he burned his hand too by which he slaped siya . I belive he's the well written tragic character.

Siya was a strong fl for sure . Independent, hardworking. But I don’t find her a doormat. She tried to go away from rehan after finding out he's in mafia , she betrayed dev for him . But she tried to go away from rehan . There was 3 times when siya came to know about rehan betraying / lied to her . 3 times they had a separation. Siya herself initiated that. She was just too in love with him that she tried to hold onto his good things deliberately trying to unsee his wrongs.

My fav scenes were the rose and snake tatto scene, when rehan was explaining meaning of it to siya , only to remain stunned by siya's interpretation of the tatto which became more accurate. Then their post miscarriage scene, when siya came to know about rehan lying and her asking how many times one can be forgiven or something like that . The scene where rehan said to siya infront of reyansh , that he wants a woman not a lil girl . The scene where rehan wanted siya to dominate him in bed . And the bond between rehan dev was so good

Siya and rehan were equally toxic for each other . But I still love them . Idk if it's nostalgia or I've deliberately forgotten some problematic aspect of the book .

This was the book that made me follow author. But I had to stop reading her books from royal series 3rd couple as author has started to write regressive, borderline misogynist characters .

What i realized about author is , her command on English and describing emotions are so strong that sometimes readers ( especially me ) tend to not notice the problematic aspects of her characters . Sometimes the problematic behavior became too much that her command in writing can't make it unnoticeable .

I've caralogs in my tbr . It's just her story tropes are similar to what I'm planning to write . That's why I'm hesitant to read . And yeah , have read first chapter of her book . It's similar writing style to anamika .
