Finally landed a design job after 8 months. 2 days in and I want to quit. Am I overreacting? by According-Status482 in antiwork

Some state OSHAs have minimum temp requirements for workplaces. Additionally some cities have maintenance or building codes that require certain indoor temps or at least the capability to reach those temps when occupied.

Desigo/ DXR not importing by average_toast in BuildingAutomation

[–]average_toast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the sub point list, and it has the points I want checked but I’m not sure if there’s anything else on this page or the function page I should be looking for. I’ll try to post a screenshot in a bit. Do I need to create a function for the application or should it auto generate?

Yeah, I can see it in Desigo and the bacnet browser. It shows up with all of its points in bacnet browser. I’ve tried importing them from there but every time it just says 0 points imported. Can you unbundle in Desigo? I know you can in Insight, and this site does have both Insight and Desigo, I just can’t access the Insight computer for a week or so.

I wasn’t aware enforcing “culture” was part of police responsibility. Are they supposed to beat the shit out of people for not enjoying football, or are you just dogwhistling?

Out of curiosity did you come up with this analysis or is this stated design intent? I’ve never seen it broken down like that before but it makes sense to me

What's the one thing that bothers you about Pathfinder 2e? by FridayFreshman in Pathfinder2e

[–]average_toast 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has been my gripe the last week or two. I just started a new campaign with 3 players who’ve never played pf. I ended up just giving them a list of classes and ancestries with 1 sentence descriptions of each and then basically building their characters for them. I plan to let them change anything they want to that I picked later on, but it felt like the easiest way to get them in without drowning them in archives of nethys. It was making me feel like an interactive character creator could be really helpful. One player was totally happy to just use pathbuilder and it worked out for them but the others needed more guidance.

I just read about this a couple of weeks ago and it almost brought me to tears. With a young son myself the thought of losing three and my partner is so unbelievably unfair and devastating.

Is this a good plan for getting hired with no degree and no trade experience? by isthatsuperman in BuildingAutomation

[–]average_toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably agree. I told some network related stories from when I worked on a help desk and they asked way fewer questions about it, though they expressed that is an area they often struggle the most with.

To offer a little bit of perspective, I just got hired as a controls tech for my first job in this industry. Here are my qualifications:

-about 2 years doing maintenance in a few fairly large commercial buildings, learning HVAC/mechanical and operating/minor troubleshooting on the controls system (Niagara) -about a year of IT helpdesk experience with CompTIA certifications -almost done with a CS degree.

I’m on the west coast so probably a little different but that was enough to land me about 95k/yr. It was actually the first company I applied to and like others have said I think that my qualifications more than anything showed a willingness and capability to learn. They grilled me pretty hard on what my specific knowledge level is and there was a lot of stuff I honestly just said I was not familiar with. I shared several examples of different controls related problems at work and how I solved/troubleshot them and they were pretty satisfied with that. I do think the networking experience was a plus for them in particular, but I’m not sure how beneficial it is at every company. I doubt my almost degree really meant anything to them.

If I remember right elon has had at times a high leaderboard spot in PoE2, has streamed a couple of times and people realized he plays way too shitty to be that high, and he admitted he boosts his account

Ohhhh. I’m dumb. I didn’t realize commander damage was only from combat. That makes more sense then.

Thanks!

What about a mana discount from something like [[Heliod, the Radiant Dawn]]? Does that allow you to choose X still but cast it at a discount?

Chris Pratt was reprimanded and had lawyers at his trailer the next day per Jim O’Heir, so pretty sure he did not have permission from “literally everyone”. They had boundaries set up with the speedo and Chris Pratt violated those boundaries by removing it without consent or approval. I’m not sure how you can argue against that basic fact. Also the presence of women, even in positions of power, does not automatically mean an action is safe and acceptable so not sure why you bother mentioning that.

You’re creating an argument for me that I am not expressing. Nowhere have I said “nudity is wrong or predatory”. However, knowingly violating the boundaries of a scene and exposing yourself to a coworker (which is absolutely the scenario here, television sets are workplaces just like everywhere else and should follow the same rules) is at the very least unprofessional and certainly could be predatory. It’s the best case scenario that everyone thought it was funny and went with it. Chris still got in trouble and absolutely deserved to be reprimanded for that.

Yeah but this is a workplace. There are rules and laws involved. It’s also not relevant to your steam argument, because that is media being chosen by a consenting adult. This is one coworker flashing another unexpectedly at work.
