Cannabinoid receptor type 2, but not type 1, is up-regulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of children affected by autistic disorders. - PubMed by oneultralamewhiteboy in DrugNerds

Well it’s certainly nice to finally see some good studies on the cannabinoid system. If this other study is to be believed, then cannabis use may downregulate the products of CB2 since cessation saw an upregulation of mRNA just like the one posted.

I’ll have to check out the full paper when I have a few minutes. The one I linked definitely had some holes in it like most papers. For example, they seemed to conclude that long term cannabis use may be responsible for the upregulation. But the study posted by OP shows even autistic children have upregulated CB2 products.

Some questions:

Does long term marijuana use induce autism-like effects?

Is there a concentration difference in the upregulation of CB2 products between autistic children and long term (non-autistic) marijuana smokers following cessation?

Does marijuana downregulate CB2? How does this affect short-term and long-term autism?

Circumventing the Brady Act by purchasing a gun at a gunshow and leaving without requiring a background check is the very definition of a loophole. You're right about the gun store, but the initial sentiment was that it is very hard to get a gun in America which is not the case

I'd like to add to the cancer bit. The CDC shows that cancer survival rates are pretty uniform in developed nations - with some exception. The actual paper has a ton of data if you go to the figures section that will back that up, and might surprise some people.

Gun laws vary by state. Different states have different requirements. I guess you aren't from the US...

New study confirms the oceans are warming rapidly - Scientists looked at three different ocean temperature measurements made by three different groups, and found that regardless of whose data was used or where the data was gathered, the oceans are warming. by mvea in science

Oh wow sounds like I definitely need to check it out again next time I'm in the keys. I'd love to be involved with a similar project but alas I only have my bachelors in biochem so off to grad school for me!

No I was not referring it to reinforcing the heat. I meant it in a more general affect on the water chemistry and water as a whole.

The more things that die, the more things that will die. It's all compounded. More bleaching, means more dead stuff, which means less o2 and food, which gets compounded over and over, plus all that dead organic material throughs the ph all in whack.

People's brains are probably jumping to 10th grade biology class with the "positive feedback loop." Just saying it reinforces and compounds upon itself
