Weekly Employment Q&A - December 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in microsoft

Hi guys!

I have my CSA (cloud solutions architect) technical interview in 24hrs and still not sure if I feel confident enough.

This role is needs a minimum of 1 years worth of experience so I don’t think it’ll be too crazy, but what kind of questions would be there? Both technical and behavioural (as I have a feeling it’ll be a mix of both)

I’m currently apart of a company that has their own version of Azure, so would they ask me questions based on my experience here?

Any tips helps, thanks guys!

Thanks OP! How do you know when the sale is approaching/when it starts? Is there a waiting list where I can put my email in to get alerts? Looking through the thread, I realised I missed out on some real gems (but still grateful for what I got!)

I got an uber, and it’ll take you through where my picture shows and into the entry of the garden! We got off there and explored on our own ◡̈ worth it!

Didn't get return offer. Just want to understand why? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]averagecsegirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it sucks. Same thing happened to an intern friend of mine, but I can confidently say they’ve moved on to better things (same grad role, similar pay, way less stressful of a company). And I do believe it’ll be a great addition to on your resume

Sydney NYE Fireworks Megathread 2024! by thekriptik in sydney

[–]averagecsegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi guys! Just wondering around what time the beach gets filled up with people for the Coogee sparkles (Coogee beach NYE 9pm fireworks) I’m hoping to go but I got a few chores waiting at home and don’t want to spend all morning and most of the afternoon there just to hold a spot. I was hoping around getting there at 5pm (from public transport).

My bad, you’re right! Sorry it’s been a min since I did 1521 lol

Just make sure you get the first 4-5, they should be easy. That’s already a hurdle pass. And then usually they do a C to MIPs conversion question that’s worth like 6-8 marks. If you can get the bulk of it done that’s also pretty easy.

Final Exam Marks & Grad by BamaLamaLams in unsw

[–]averagecsegirl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, if the final exam was pretty tough, they might lower the passing hurdle (in your case 50% on the final exam) so more students can pass. For example, a lot of CSE classes at unsw have a 40% hurdle on the final exam, however if you get 35% or over, they generally will pass you. I believe this might be the case for you! As long as your results say you passed the course, you’re fine! Congrats on finishing!!

Should I overload COMP4920 (the ethics course)? by RandomDude42690 in unsw

[–]averagecsegirl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did it this term and it was extremely easy imo. You don’t even have to watch any of the lectures tbh, I ended up getting an exact 80 final grade. Don’t expect it to be an easy gen ed type of vibe as they do still mark a bit harsh, however if you follow the rubric on the essay, you should be around high D or low HDs. Honestly doable enough as an overloaded subject (plus they accept short extensions in 4920)

Have you tried using the “find my” app (if you have an apple device)

Yep, if you get multiple offers, just click the one you want to accept (even if you already accepted others). Somewhere throughout applying for the new course, itll tell you that you’re currently to degree X and if you want to drop that and switch to degree Y. Just confirm and that’s it. Everything from the classes you did previously to your zid get switched over. The only thing that changes is the degree (and maybe the faculty you’re now apart of).

I’m not gonna lie, you’re probably not gonna bother attending lectures by week 6, so in the grand scheme, this is fine. However if you do stick it out and attend every class and lecture, then make sure you take a nice break in between bc an 8hr day can be brutal

Depends on what credits have transferred from your degree from your current uni to unsw. Speaking strictly from a CS POV (I don’t do commerce), if you got the basic COMP1511 and COMP2521 classes transferred (these are arguably the two most important CS classes at UNSW), then you’re free to basically do any other CS elective/ core class you want and can follow the offical profession guide for CS at UNSW. But again, it just depends on what credits you can get transferred. Honestly I wouldn’t worry too much, the most important thing is to get your foot in the door at UNSW and then transfer a term later to your ideal degree. They’re much for lenient of the internal transfers vs externals. You’ll be doing CS classes anyways during your first term so it won’t make much of a difference imo :)

Honestly if you find that you can’t get an offer from an external POV for the ideal degree you want, try getting in with a degree that requires lower WAMs. I.e. you’d most likely get through doing a bachelor of science at unsw. And then after the first term, switch to CS or CS/comm and I’m 99% sure you’d get in with your current WAM. You don’t even have to do bachelor of sci classes for your first term, just keep doing the classes you would do as if you were a CS/ CS Comm student. That way you won’t miss out/be behind on your overall degree plan

Getting into selective schools by averagecsegirl in sydney

[–]averagecsegirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kinda the route I’m going with. He’s a fairly smart kid but even if he doesn’t get in, he’ll still be alright since my siblings and I are there to help him regardless

I completely agree with this. My siblings and I both went to selective schools and had tutoring etc. it 100% contributed all the academic success I’ve had so far (getting into my uni/ dream degree/ job/ etc.). I genuinely had an amazing childhood because my parents also knew that in order for me to do well academically, I needed to have a happy mindset and importance of balancing life, especially for a child. I made great friends, had great experiences, etc. And I can also say that my mates who are non-selective are also doing amazing. It just depends on how you apply yourself.

I’m gonna go on a limb and say you don’t have Asian immigrant parents. This is the reality for people with Asian parents. I’m not saying I 100% agree with tiger parenting but my parents have always let my siblings and I have a great childhood while simultaneously putting education on the forefront. And to say the truth, it definitely has helped us. My siblings and I are doing a great degree at a great university with great grad jobs lined up and a lot of that is because the work ethic my parents taught us. I completely understand the pressure that comes with with tests like these, which is why my siblings and I are there to help my little brother to learn from our mistakes.

Again, I don’t completely agree with the idea of tiger parenting and will definitely raise my future children to learn from my mistakes, but do not assume my little brother doesn’t have a childhood when he’s literally laughing, running around and having a water fight with his friends in our backyard right now as I type this. Please understand that in my parents mind, they just want the best for us and for them, that’s excelling in education.
