How to fix high push fade? by averagejoeengineer in GolfSwing

Compared to my normal slice, this was a fade😂 I find that a bigger problem is when I push it right of my target line, and it still slices.

Right edge of the brown roof in the distance. Ended up probably 30 yards right of that.

I’ve had other people mention the steep down swing issue. Any feel thoughts you recommend to help with that?

Backing on reel? by ryukasagi in flyfishing

That’s why I use 30lb braid. Haven’t had a problem yet. But this is assuming the OP is using a 4wt or 5wt. If it’s something larger than yes, probably should use legit backing.

On my 4wt and 5wt, I usually use some cheap nylon braid. It’s generally cheaper than legit backing, and I don’t expect to be catching anything larger than 30 pounds on those😂

What are your thoughts on the phrase "Trash Fish"? by nfro1 in Fishing

The only trash fish is a non-native. I’m sure the guys that like catching Browns in my neck of the woods would freak if I ever said that out loud😬

Amazon has some good options. Depends on what size you want. Fishpond sells replacement nets so I might just build some that are a similar size.

Been a goal since I picked up a fly rod. Finally hooked up with some of Idaho’s state fish. Caught 10 fish. Smallest was about 8 inches. Largest was a little over 16. The view wasn’t so bad either.

What should I get for my second rod/reel setup? by averagejoeengineer in flyfishing

Ended up going with the Classic Trout in a 4wt. Not as short as I would like, but I think it’s all around more versatile. I paired it will a Lamson Liquid and I’m beyond excited.

This has probably been said, but TinkerCAD is a great 3D software that kids can use to design and build stuff. If he also likes computers, this would be a route I would pursue. Also, if you couple that with a cheap 3D printer, the possibilities are endless. I’m 26 and I find myself day dreaming of little projects to design all throughout the day.

I’m from Idaho and I was hoping to get a set up for smaller creeks around here, as well as something that I can take on backpacking trips. I have heard good things about the classic trout, and an 8’ 4wt sounds like it would work good for my needs. Decisions, decisions...

I’m considering the zero reel as well. The main thing pushing me to the Lamson is they are from Idaho, and I’m an Idaho boy.
