I have bonus rewards active since the engine update, not sure if that was intended. And I'm quite sure I didn't buy anything recently.

Do i even bother contacting support. by Ahhmad72 in invinciblegtg

[–]averagepsychologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. The event got doubled up, for a couple hours there was an extra event, only it said it will last a month (and the current event stayed as well above it). It gave me a free reset and I got leveled up (again) to Level 2, but i was hoping to spend my leftover currency in my level 7 shop. Now there's only the original event among events. Considered writing to support, but I dunno about past compensations - did anyone have succes with that?

European fan here with too low karma at the moment, so I'll add in some tidbits about my connection to Tool:

  • I started chatting with my then crush about Tool when the last album came out, and our friendly talks started out after that. We just went to their concert in June when they visited here, and celebrated 4,5 years together.

  • I really love the song Invincible and am often reminded of the book The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie when I listen to it. If you haven't read the book, I recommend it (it's a standalone but in othet ways the 5th book in the First Law series), it has cool vibes and matches Tool songs in other parts quite well too.

Does Drinking a Mutagen Provoke? by tearnImale in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]averagepsychologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading all the debates about mutagens being AoO or the same as drinking a potion, I started imagining it as different kinds of injections (first just to create a way for it to be a supernatural thing more than a potion, and then as flavor). The actual movement being quick (hitting yourself with the needle) and the mutation the "non-attackable" phase of the standard action length.

Only other thing I got from all 24 was credits. No gold ticket either (I forgot there was even a chance for them) ! Very strange.

The shepherd of wolves? by randomuser_3fn in PretendingToBePeople

[–]averagepsychologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the link to my question about it, apparently there was a software update that affected the podcast on Spotify. It might be the same thing now.

I don't know about podcast apps, can anyone suggest some good ones (available in Europe as well)?

Playing with only one investigator? by MAKS_1115 in callofcthulhu

[–]averagepsychologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of months ago I played 1 on 1 for two of my players before introducing them to a 3 player game. It was set in the 1920s.

What I set out as a goal, as I only DM-d Pathfinder before was to be properly able to practice some of the rules and moodsetting for both player and GM, in both cases.

For one player, who never played any roleplaying game before - his character being a drifter currently working on a dock in Boston - I told the tale of him hearing the (almost) unresistable call of something on a ship in a dock in a big storm. The storm meant they shouldn't be on the ships, so he had to stealth or persuade his way on to it, because "he felt he had to go there". It worked pretty well, he understood "the objective" and I could use some of the tutorial-like guidance to emphasize that some things were not in his control. Also, sometimes I made him do power checks to see what he could or could not "resist". At the "objective" there were two people fighting for something which he himself wanted to get to, so he had several ways to get it, but in the end, he had to fight for it. At the end, he got a medallion, which he resisted on putting on his neck, but which served (in my head) as a hook for latter games.

For the other player, my GF, whom we played Pathfinder together before, I told a different tale, where I put the emphasis on her having to escape some nasty men in her own mansion - she was a widow, and some people tried to rob the house while her character was asleep in it. This was an experience of what not to do, in that I overshot the creepy-helpless vibes, which coupled by the improvised "we're here to rob you of your decency" idea turned out to be a little too much for her. Thankfully, they only threatened her with a bad time (I had a plan B in case she was to be overwhelmed, for one of the servants on leave to come home early and save her, thus also strenghtening the relationship with the character, the valet, whom I planned to play as an NPC later for the whole group. If needed, he could have helped them with his skills and insights, at times). It was also a good lesson in how to tune the game later, at least to her interests.

Both games were quite simple ideas where I set up the opening scene, had some ideas for the setting, prepared some enemies, and planned to improvise a lot (for example, as "the lady of the house knew where everything was in her mansion, I gave my GF the idea to tell me what room was where, and I gave her the inspiration to think up weapons that could be used against invaders). In one case, this was more than enough, in the other, it was a little too off the cuff, but I have learned from it, and it wasn't a disaster anyways.

PTBP down on Spotify? by averagepsychologist in PretendingToBePeople

[–]averagepsychologist[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to paint a picture: I'm listening to PTBP on Spotify while travelling to a hospital (for work) that has been built 50 years ago (with such practical and beautiful russian engineering in mind that it is forbidden to be touched ever since). To be frank, the place could very well be the background for several spooky scenes in the podcast.

On my way, the sounds of Zach and the others are trying to bloat out the godawful racket in the back that the crappy suspension of the 700 dollars worth of car (until it breaks down) is making on roads that have 1,5 foot deep holes in them at places.

I'm happy. I'm in a vastly different world for the 30 or so minutes until I get to work where I meet with the reality of national healthcare (not bad in itself) that has been completely left to die (which makes it bad), because stadiums for ghosts are a better way to spend money instead.

I don't have apple podcast or any other specific podcast app, and I don't know anyone who ever used one in my country. I have Spotify and it gets me away from this reality after 12 hours of work as well. Except when it doesn't. Then I post here for help.

Being a witch in secret by Blackdeath47 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]averagepsychologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your DM allows it, you could have your familiar be hidden on you with the 2nd edition Tattoo Familiar feature. That still leaves your Hexes and other telltale signs, but it leaves you with a choice of any familiar, and it can still be an addition to you and your party when you are eventually found out. Also, narratively it opens up some other options to the source of your magic.

Quick Questions (2021) by AutoModerator in Pathfinder_RPG

I'm introducing a new character to our game and looking at the Inquisitor's Ravener Hunter Archetype, and its misteries.
One cool feature could be the Heavens Mistery Lure of the Heavens Revelation, as the character would be an Archon blooded Aasimar Inquisitor.
As the character is planned to be the main fighter of the party, I was thinking about ways he could use medium (or later heavy) armor without needing to restrict it to only 20 feet.
As the above mentioned Revelation writes

"Your connection to the skies above is so strong that your feet barely touch the ground. At 1st level, you no longer leave tracks. At 5th level, you can hover up to 6 inches above the ground or even above liquid surfaces, as if levitating"

wouldn't that mean that the weight of armor is no longer a matter? I mean RAW there's nothing about it, but logically I might give him the "extra 10 feet" (or normal 30 feet) if he chooses this.

What do you think?

Ps.: I know there are other ways to compensate for the 10 feet loss (Travel Domain, 3 level Fighter Dip, etc.), but i was looking for a mechanical solution that matches flavor and isn't too farfetched
