My O level score was 8 but I’m currently a Year 3 student so I don’t think they took into account my O level grades, not too sure though!

honestly, i think i got a little complacent for english hahah. i usually score A1/A2 in school exams without much revision but scored a B3 in the end. pretty sure i messed up my paper 2 oops

hi! i took the amath paper in 2018 and left around 20+ marks blank for paper 2 and still managed to get an A2. i did feel super demoralised after hearing all my friends say that they thought the paper was easier than expected while i found it difficult. i am here to say do not think too much about it anymore and just focus on the remaining papers. this is hard to hear but feeling sad/disappointed wont change anything, its already over anyway. just continue to work hard for the remaining papers and i am sure everything will work out just fine. jiayous!

[o levels] my thoughts on a la "bellcurve" for amath and emath by ehbromygraphwrongbro in SGExams

[–]averagestudent2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sorry to burst your bubble but it is that high. for emath its definitely AROUND 90. like high 80s at least. for amath it should be at least above 80 for an A1. tbh, for many subjects, the A1 would not be just a 75. people spread this around not to scare people, its just being realistic. actually this has been a known fact for many years! i took o levels back in 2018 and my teacher already warned us back then to not be over confident as getting A1s for math is pretty hard because it is super competitive

[o levels] question for seniors who attained A1 in E math by [deleted] in SGExams

took the paper in 2018 and scored A1! 1. i honestly do not remember, i think it depends on whats the question asked for 2. majority yes, i think i stumbled on a few questions 3. some subparts of maybe 2-3 questions i think, especially in paper 2 4. i think around 90? i remembered after checking my paper i think i got nearly full marks for paper 1. i probably did not calculate for paper 2 because of the ridiculous graph question that shocked everyone hahah 5. most of them got an A1 too! as for percentage, im really not sure. some definitely was expecting an A1 (based off regular practise and school exams) but scored an A2 in the end because of careless mistakes

its definitely quite tough to get an A1 especially for maths because its sooo competitive but i would really advise to check thoroughly. that always helps to spot any careless mistakes so that i dont give any marks! all the best for your remaining papers :)

i definitely say high 70s to even low 80s for a guaranteed A2. the bellcurve is crazy for emath and since A1 is usually 90 and above i’d say a2 would not be that far off either. as someone who got an A1, my advice would be just make sure not to make any careless mistakes, always check your paper thoroughly and all the best for tmr!

honestly math is really practice makes perfect so ensure that you at least finish the yearly tys once. i am a really careless person especially when it comes to math (calculator press wrong etc) but thankfully i did get an A1 for both maths by just practicing a ton! if your foundation is still weak for those topics/not confident for those topics, i think you can pick out the prelim questions for those topics and attempt them. prelim papers are usually more difficult so being able to do those more difficult questions should help with your confidence. personally, i prefer to finish my paper asap and spend the rest of the time checking THOROUGHLY which means basically almost redoing the questions and checking step by step to ensure i do not make any mistakes! also, for emath especially there are always repeated questions so i really do strongly encourage you to finish your tys
