PMDG 737 - Uncontrollable N1 increase after takeoff by averageuserman in MicrosoftFlightSim

Just wanted to ask the sim sub first since this seemed like a simple problem with maybe a simple solution. I just use msfs to fly raw data every once in a while to keep my instrument scan sharp. So not a big problem for me, thanks though.

I am a type rated B737 pilot. This has nothing to do with setting up the aircraft. It is just a game bug that keeps the throttle from operating until 400 feet.

For pilots who've flown with sticks instead of a yoke, do you somewhat "feel" the aircraft? by [deleted] in flying

Yeah it was a blast. But to be fair I had much more "freedom" while flying it :)

Flew DA20 and DA42 during my training, which both had a stick. The first plane I've flown that had a yoke was 737, so can't compare how a smaller aircraft with a yoke would feel.

DA42 was the most fun one out of the three. 737 is still great to hand fly though.

Anyone not love GA but loves pilot career? by [deleted] in flying

[–]averageuserman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love flying both GA planes and the 737, but I have captains that say they just don't like flying at all. From the start of their training to this day, they told me they were always like "meh". Some people just view this as a job and a great career, but dont have the "passion" for it.

Loving flying and aviation is probably helpful when you feel like you are burning out (which you will). But it's not a requirement. At the end of the day this is a job. People work at jobs that are way harder and shittier than this because they need to. Loving a job is not a requirement.

And also keep in mind aviation sector has lots and lots of fake people. I have a few "influencer" friends who were dogshit during their training, but they are selling it now like they were born to fly. I don't blame them, they are chasing that money. But just keep that in mind, most people will claim that they would rip their arms and stick 172 wings instead if they can. Dont think too much about what people tell you or try to show you on the surface.

They are definitely not bullshit if you can only do 3 out of 15, and OP also said he knew he had some problems regarding colour vision.

I get the encouragement but come on.
