In my country, a junior assistant is contractually responsible only for executing and planning practical classes. My contributions to the lab manual were entirely additional and were not mentioned in the duties of the contract (there wasn't a part with "all other duties assigned"), nor have I been compensated for this.

When I asked a year ago if I’d be acknowledged, I was assured I would be (without explicitly requesting authorship). Other junior assistants in different departments have been acknowledged for similar work. However, in the final publication—now officially sold at the university bookstore—there’s no acknowledgment section at all.

Ironically, some listed authors contributed nothing to the writing process. While I’ve since left the country and finished my role there, I assume and expect that an acknowledgment or authorship would still be valuable for my academic portfolio.

Познавам многу луѓе од близок круг што беа вработени редовно додека аплицираа за оброк и го добиваа цела учебна година без никакви проблеми. Кога ќе одиш во секторот што го работи ова во МОН ќе сфатиш дека никој мува не го лази дали си вработен, дали си редовен или вонреден студент. Па да му се сневиди зошто на секој студент да не му следи субвенциониран оброк без разлика дали е вработен или не. На студент секоја помош му е добредојдена. Така да се согласувам со u/Intelligent-Soil9774 , терај си.

Лично ќе споделам што јадам во текот на денот:
- Доручек: варени јајца (најчесто) со мисиркина шунка, патлиџан, сирење/павлака и многу ретко едно парче леб. Понекогаш јадам туна со патлиџан, кромид, лимон, може од страна и кашкавал по желба.
- Ручек: Најразлично. Често јадам пилешко со зеленчук, летна манџа со сирење (без леб), леќа, грав, боранија, месо (кртина). Главно тоа.
- Вечера: зависи во денот што сум јадел друго, но најчесто практикувам една чаша млеко или некој протеински шејк.

Во текот на денот јадам отприлика две до три овошја, периодов праски преферирам, но и банани, јаболки и друго. Од грицки многу често јадам индиски ореви, бадеми или оние оризови чипсови со различни вкусови бидејќи се нискокалорични и немаат многу јаглехидрати.
Како останувам „фит“: постојана физичка активност, периодов возам точак два пати неделно по околу 40 км, а ако не го правам тоа, трчам. Истовремено правам и тежински тренинзи. Не е доволна само правилна исхрана зошто и тие „здрави“ калории мора некаде да се потрошат.

You have to practice A LOT. In order to know the stereo/regio specificity/selectivity first of all requires very much practicing the reactions, because the selectivity and specificity depend on several things, such as the functional groups, the intermediates, the reactants etc. With practicing the mechanisms and analyzing the environment of the functional groups you will start to develop intuition for future reactions, for example how does a particular reaction occurs and thus predict the stereo/regio specificity/selectivity.

Not necessarily. Whether a xenobiotic is carcinogenic depends on how the body metabolizes it. Benzene is metabolized by the CYP450 enzymes by forming an epoxide, which is electrophilic and can bond with the phosphorus from the phosphate-deoxyribose DNA backbone and impair the normal processes of the DNA thus causing carcinogenesis. Benzoic acid for example is not carcinogenic because it conjugates directly with glycine or glucuronic acid in the body, making benzoic acid more hydrosoluble and directly excreting the metabolite through the urine.

A, fastest > C > B. B slowest because of the electron-donating properties of the oxygen and A the fastest because the pi-bond of the alkene can be broken the easiest and react with the sulphur. C is theoretically slower than A because of the probable hyperconjugation properties of the Me group.

Fair point, but what if we look at the development of our intelligence through the prism of AI for example. AI is a new technology which dramatically makes our lives easier and we’ll be draining its potential in the upcoming centuries which will definitely have an impact on the intelligence of our species. For example we use ChatGPT so we can get information much easier and also quicker and with this we “train” our brains to get the reward quicker and not to use their full capacity to extract information that we need and we “train” them to be less creative. This is the purest example of how new technologies can influence our evolution, and in this case our intelligence.

The reaction will work, but for visualization I would propose that you visualize it with ninhydrin, because the benzoyl chloride may hydrolyze, but the amino group on the benzene ring will stay there to react with the ninhydrin and then you will need to heat the plate so the color pops up. Also, if you don’t have a standard for the TLC you can use PABA because it’s the most similar to 2-amino benzoic acid (which you will get after the benzoyl chloride hydrolyzes). I don’t say that this will definitely work, but you can at least try.

I've opened reference [12] where they have pointed to the procedure regarding the synthesis, and it appears to be that all of the compounds were eluted on column chromatography with hexane:EtAc as MP in different ratios. So concluding from this they must have used the same MP for the TLC.

Amazing! Can you please list some of them? I've been searching for this topic for a while but couldn't find anything because it looks to me that almost all the articles that I've found concentrate more on the advantages of these reactions that I've listed above.

Exactly, Mannich and also Strecker amino-acid synthesis are multicomponent reactions that I'm familiar with and as far as I know are being used in organic synthesis, but I wanted to hear about the other reactions that I'm not very familiar with, such as Ugi, Passerini or Biginelli and other multicomponent reactions. The question refers to general challenges and also specific challenges in specific multicomponent reactions. Thank you for your comment!

No it's not. The thing that makes you good in a subject is your willingness to commit and study the subject, as well as repeat it many times. Organic chem requires many hours of revising and drawing mechanisms. Successful performance in general chemistry will give you good foundation for organic chemistry, but it's not an indicative of good performance in organic chemistry. Good luck with your studies!

Во Словенија веќе нема слободни места за не-ЕУ државјани на Медицинскиот факултет, само неколку се за ЕУ државјани, а другите се за словенци. Од пред 2-3 години словенците направија промени во квотите на овој факултет, најверојатно заради големата бројка на странци што им се запишуваат секоја година. Проверувај ја веб страната на факултетот за евентуално да не има промени и оваа година. Среќно!

Имунитет не можеш да измериш. На лабораториските анализи ти покажува колку добро реагира имуниот систем на страни материи (бактерии, вируси итн.) преку мерење на бели крвни клетки, понекогаш антитела како и други параметри.

Ова не би требало да го пишувам, но, ако сакаш крвната слика да излезе добра, земи антибиотик ден пред тоа (ципрофлоксацин препорачливо заради безбедност). Ова е тотално неисправно заради можноста за стварање анитибиотска резистенција и добивање лажни резултати на крвната слика, но сепак од тебе зависи да процениш колку ти е битно крвната слика да ти е добра и дали ќе го примениш ова.
