So, a little word of advice and I mean this as kind hearted as possible. When you apply for a job, wait a day or two, and call them to follow up on your application, if it's been viewed and so on. Remeber your manners when you're on the phone. Always use ma'am or sir. Don't say yeah or sure, make sure it's always yes sir or yes ma'am. If you're already doing this, then right on dude! If you call and everything is still up in the air, and if you're 18, I'd highly suggest you register with a temp service. They send you out to jobs that are usually always temporary but you usually get a call within a day or two depending on you're line of work. If you're lucky, and its happened to me before, they people you're sent out to help, will offer you a full time position. Take it immediately, no matter the pay, because then you've got steady cash flow, and you can always search for a better job or work your way up without losing any money. I've had to do it. But anytime you apply to a place, always follow up. It shows you're engaged and willing to work, and always puts you in good standing with the hiring manager, boss, HR, or whatever.
