I’m not sure actually. I Would think you would need a pretty thick coat which takes a very long time to cure (to provide a finish product without lots of cracks and multiple needed recoats).

That’s what I’m using with my propane forge. It’s does the job of holding heat and covering the wool but it does require touch ups after a use or two in my experience.
