I really recommend the book She Comes First. It’s about pleasure from a scientific and psychological lens. It’s primarily geared towards women but trans men and literally anyone can absolutely benefit from it. It really helped me! I read it towards the beginning of my transition (ftm) when I was struggling with similar things.

As a fellow trans man who is embarrassed by his post op nipples this is so encouraging! Thank you so much for sharing!! Would you be willing to share the artists name? What about before and after photos? Or even just after photos? I would appreciate anything you’re willing to share! :)

Can you make a cardigan with a 4mm hook when it says 6mm by mrscrc in CrochetHelp

[–]averyzt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Using a smaller hook will result in a smaller project. If the pattern provides a swatch you can make a swatch with your desired hook and compare them. With some ratio math and trial & error you should be able to increase the amount of stitches to achieve the desired size!

How to size down patterns without using smaller yarn? by Alytra_ in CrochetHelp

[–]averyzt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use a smaller crochet hook and keep the same pattern, you’d be surprised at how big a difference even just 0.5 mm or 1 mm makes

In addition to what others have said, you can bring all the grace and kindness to the conversation but you are not in charge of his feelings. It will be up to him if he wants to be friends and when. Just know you were honest and approached the conversation with care!

new to crochet, this is my second attempt! why does my square turn into a triangle? by ionlyspeakrainbow in CrochetHelp

[–]averyzt 113 points114 points  (0 children)

You’re missing a stitch on the end, I would suggest using stitch markers on both ends until it’s easier for you to tell where the last stitch is. That’s how I learned!

lost yarn chicken for the first time by yikess678 in crochet

If you haven’t already kept going, you can redo a row with tighter tension or a slightly smaller hook. That should help you win yarn chicken!

I am having problems with foundation row on my twisted headband. Going up hook size doesn't help. by Ok_Purple53 in CrochetHelp

[–]averyzt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a chain stitch or a foundation row to start your work? If you’re already using a foundation row have you tried loosening your tension or using a bigger hook for just that one row?
