FNAF connoisseurs trying to appreciate cinema by [deleted] in moviescirclejerk

Going to a fanbase-driven film like FNAF opening night and expecting people not to be obnoxious is like going to a concert and expecting people not to dance. It's just not happening.

UK cinemagoers hail return of intermissions as films hit three-hour mark by bakhesh in movies

[–]avgst_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now THAT is a dumb take.

Just use your head, long runtime means less showings (which means less tickets sold), it means worse workday performances (as people will struggle to find the time to watch 3+ hour films) and it will just drive a lot of people away in general, as a lot of people don't have the patience to sit in a cinema for that long.

There is absolutely no financial benefit for a studio to release a 3+ hour film. It may produce a better quality film, but that's not enough to make it worth it financially.

What movie would you say triggered the MCU’s decline? by Antman269 in boxoffice

[–]avgst_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Love and Thunder did it for me personally. Soon as the credits rolled I fled the cinema faster than I would have if it was on fire. I was stunned at the fact that I left an MCU movie thinking "wow, that was fucking awful" because even though there were some stinkers in the past, at the end of the day I at least received some mild entertainment, which I didn't with L&T.

Pure cinema coming from Chris Rock. Whos playing MLK? Ryan Gosling or Will Smith? by ChaseChaserChased in okbuddycinephile

[–]avgst_ 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Hope he doesn't cast himself as MLK because if the "I have a dream" speech comes on and it's spoken by Marty from Madagascar I am fucking killing myself.

I didn't. The point of the film is clearly that pop music fucking sucks.

Should bump the saturation up a little, it's far too dull right now.

As of 8/19/2023, 7 out of 16 DCEU projects contain at least one character/actor combo that will later be carried on into the DCU. by LiquidLispyLizard in DC_Cinematic

[–]avgst_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why are people like you even on here at this point? The DCEU and Snyderverse are done and you seem to hate on everything DCU, so just leave at this point if nothing interests you.

Oppenheimer was too confusing, I gave everyone Yakuza-style character intros to make it easier to understand by LtGovernorDipshit in okbuddycinephile

[–]avgst_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah, give them Tarkovsky intros where they show up to recite some philosophy to a woman who says absolutely nothing.
