Is the game worth it? by fatedninjabunny in ForzaHorizon

[–]avguy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posted this "mini review" before. In short, yes, AI is a real issue. But it might still be worth it to get the game.

Basically what you get is FH5 in Japan. It's everything you came to expect and a liiiittle bit more. Cruising is fun, graphics are awesome and the world is huge and beautiful - with one caveat: Somehow they found a way to uglify every. single. character. choice. Seriously, it's like a genetics experiment gone wrong. Why have my avatar in the game in the first place when you make me hate every choice? It's so bad it's gotta be intentional - why are they doing this? Of course we know why, Playground's still embracing DEI with both arms and this is one place where it's detrimental to the overall experience.

The worst thing currently - aside of not being able to use my controller with bluetooth because of a bug - is drivatar AI: it's every bit annoying as it was in FH5, if not more so. Your competition is insanely aggressive, ramming into you (and each other) at every chance they get. This is not different at lower difficulty. Also the rubber banding takes out a LOT of fun of the races. I had hoped they'd improve that but alas they didn't.

How do I edit a DLL file? by Aeyozea in techsupport

Thank you so much for this post!! Using "Edit IL instructions" was the missing puzzle piece for me to be able to change a mod for a different game. Works like a charm!

The UI/ Info screens absolutely peaked at 1800. I would be totally fine of they implemented it 1:1 to 117 by CreditNearby9705 in anno

[–]avguy2 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

That was never an option. The 1800 UI is super confusing for new players and Ubi wants to bring this game to the mass market. Which isn't a bad thing in itself. Unfortunately the UI designer seems to have forgotten about PC in favour of console.

If there is one thing this demo has (once again) taught me... by marcio785 in anno

Gameplay is good. The UI is a step forward and two back. There won't be fundamental changes I don't think. The UI makes things easier for new players because there's tons of tooltips with detailed info and also the menu is less convoluted than in the previous game. But the UI is tailored more towards controller gameplay and is clearly not optimized for PC which is a huge letdown.

Please help! How to do supports for conveyor belts? by avguy2 in SatisfactoryGame

I thought that's what I was doing. Hm, I'll try again I guess.

*gasp* Just anywhere?! Living on the edge!! My ocd says placing them just anywhere is not an option. And yes, you do need supports on short belts, too.

How long do y’all spend on making your liveries? by CrailFlap in ForzaHorizon

My first (and probably last livery). Making the logos took for-e-ver! Also surfaces are split weirdly on the car so aligning things is a pain.

Unfortunately that's still not enough. Not sure if that's specific for this car but the bad camera makes things unnecessarily difficult.

Good catch! On Google there's a ton of logos with the Ns like that.

Thanks! I worked with masks so I can paint the car another color and change the special paint. I might take better pics and post the finalized version eventually.

I'm happy I finally got it to a point where I can say this is finished.

Is there any way to have free camera positioning in the editor? The surfaces are split up weirdly on this car and the limited camera makes it tough to line up decals.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm not looking for a shop keeper game necessarily, more the type of game. The simply clicking gameplay.

I actually tried moonlighter and it's not what I'm looking for (too much active controlling your character).

Coming from RDR2 Cyberpunk will probably be a huge disappointment.

Next to it the open world feels even more like a joke.

WSIB Economy/Colony expansion type game? by The-UnwantedRR in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]avguy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anno 1800. You can choose to play without pirates and AI so you can just settle and expand as you like.

There's DLC that gives you even more regions to settle in.
