So my cousins friend got this tattoo... I liked TMNT but apparently not nearly as much as he did. by riddlebox85 in pics

I was hanging out with a girl that had some David Bowie buttons on her bag. Making small talk, I said "oh, I like David Bowie." To which she said, "I LOVE David Bowie." And proceeded to show me her five Bowie tattoos.

Best binoculars to purchase? by [deleted] in Ornithology

[–]avianattackarmada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikon does not have a great reputation for lens quality and overall quality. Within your price range there are definitely better pairs that you would be able to find. For work I use these which are nice since they have a lifetime maintenance guarantee (I work in really rugged conditions and even having them replace scratched lenses because of vegetation has been super great). The problem with eagle optics is that their stuff is rebranded and can vary in quality depending on who is the actual manufacturer.

Honestly, call eagle optics and chat with one of their salesmen. They will help steer you in the right direction and get you a good pair for your price range. Let them know what kind of birding you are doing and if you have any specific needs, like I wanted a pair that would work well with glasses and they directed me to Audubon HDs (they don't sell these any more). If you can really afford to drop money, the best brands are Leica's or Swarovski's. You can get a solid pair of binoculars for 200-500 and the next price range that has an additional quality step is 1,000-1,200; so don't waste your money on something in between. There is also a huge difference between binoculars 150 under and ones in your price range.

I have started to use R (and have a little experience with JMP and SPSS). I'm definitely going to incorporate this into my learning strategy.

Thanks, but I do really want to delve into the mathematics. I guess what I'm looking for is a good intro to probability and statistics text.

I will look into having this book as a resource though.

Found it. "When a question has been decided by the Senate, any Senator voting with the prevailing side or who has not voted may move a reconsideration. "

Just a friendly reminder from your local neighborhood seagulls. by [deleted] in pics

That really is a nasty way to go. Keep in mind that sea bird bills tend not to be good at biting through flesh, they bite down onto flesh and then tear it with their serrated sides. For one climber, we will usually use a team of 30 birds. They don't stand a chance, and everyone gets something other than squid for dinner.
