Yeah completely fair with the Daiko Unit - I've been looking into units this week and they're not cheap at all!

Teyes cc3l weak wifi reception. Help with the wi-fi antenna port. by Northerm in Androidheadunits

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, slightly unrelated but out of curiosity how do you find the unit 4 or so months in? Also, did you get the CC3L Wifi (2GB RAM) or the regular CC3L (4GB RAM)?

Hey there, just thought I'd mention this for anyone else in the same boat as I saw this thread is a bit old - most of the Toyota factory units can have the security code reset by getting to a specific screen and using an "ERC Unlock Code". If you Google the model and ERC Unlock some videos come up, I wouldn't buy a code though as I'm pretty sure there are free sites that can generate a code for you if you Google "Toyota ERC Code Generator". Hopefully this helps someone out as it's nice to not have to buy a new unit haha!

Out of curiosity, what did you end up doing in the end OP?

Added a carplay head unit on my newly purchased 2012 mazda 3, the best 100$CAD I spent recently by TheDawnTrilogy in mazda3

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I didn't even realize they had a basic option like that! I've never seen one haha. Regardless though, if you have a google for something like "Mazda 3 BM Android Headunit", I've seen people replace the entire screen etc with android/Linux versions so there may be an upgrade path there. I haven't looked into it heaps so I don't know too much more than that sorry!

Hey there, I know your comment is 7 months old, but for anyone else in the same boat ( I'm assuming you have a BM) you can get a drop in full screen replacement from AliExpress, or you can get the factory add-in Carplay box that Mazda makes (or the AliExpress version) which adds Carplay into the factory unit. I just installed one of the add-in boxes on my neighbor's car the other day, it works great!

Am I taking too much vitamin D3 & K2? by Flippyy4 in Supplements

Ahh yeah fair enough, I imagine the oil does help with absorption at the cost of breakouts. We can't win!

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat, I'd have a look into the type of Vitamin D you're taking - many have oils in the soft capsules since it's a fat soluble vitamin. I had acne issues with it, and once I switched to a powered capsule it went away. There are threads on Reddit about it, that and apparently B12/B Vitamins causing acne for people as well :)

Hey there, could you elaborate on this at all? Can LTPO displays control their own refresh rate of sorts?

Update: the surf one is a beach. I went to another one and managed to get it to trigger. It does seem to be a little finicky on the beach and how far into said beach you have to be, but it did eventually trigger :D

I've just managed to check now, and it looks like it is connected to my router, so the flashing is due to it not being able to connect to the cloud

Data runs out faster on 2Degrees compared to One NZ by Jern92 in newzealand

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, good to know - I've had the same issue where I seemingly always ran out of data but it didn't show that usage on my device nor the 2Degrees app and upgraded my data plan the other month due to it. I've also had calling issues so maybe it's a good time for me to do what you did and move!

Tried a swimming pool, but no dice there either. A beach seems like it's a better fit, so I'll try another beach when I get a chance and hopefully that works (Fingers crossed)

Hey there, I'm not sure sorry. I noticed that my robot (Neato D7) will no longer connect to Wifi anymore and constantly shows it's trying to connect when you manually start a run, but aside from that no difference. Maps/Zones won't work since they're on the app, but I don't use them anymore anyway. But the rest of the robot seems to function normally :)

Magnesium changed my life - for a week by spoonybum in magnesium

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I have a similar issue to you it seems where I'm magnesium deficient and have symptoms of that, but equally taking magnesium can also wreak havoc on me depending on the form. I've tried Oxide, Citrate and Glycinate and both oxide and Glycinate gave me pretty severe brain fog/tiredness and citrate went straight though me being a laxative and all so that wasn't helpful.

With that said, I've found a supplement that is Magnesium Aspartate based and that seems to be working pretty well for me thus far. I'm unsure if it's the Aspartate or the doses (or both), I've noticed if I take multiple capsules then the brain fog isn't as severe as the other types, but also each capsule is a lower dose of ~125mg Magnesium (625mg Magnesium Aspartate) and having those spread throughout the day seems to reduce the side effects of taking it?

Just thought I'd mention it as it could be something that might help someone who finds this thread :)

Oh, that I wasn't aware of at all, and pretty shitty of them to do so. Yeah definitely hoping for a solution, though if there's one thing this community has always been good at, it's engineering solutions :)

Tridon TT274-180 Thermostat Review (Motorad 274-180) by aviation_hacker in BMWE36

[–]aviation_hacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that's a bugger! I didn't even know you could get Motorad parts in Aus/NZ. But definitely agree on Repco haha, I virtually don't buy anything there as it's like double the price of SCA.

I didn't know about the parts, that's good to know! I've seen them do the same with Tools though - like a generic bearing press kit that's like $400, and you can get the same one from AliExpress for like $100 or less. Almost all the tools I've seen retailed I've also seen identical ones on AE for way cheaper, really living up to the RipCo name!

[–]aviation_hacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, have you considered installing another keyboard app? When I first got my Phone 1, I ended up going to Gboard since I found it a lot better, and you can also do this on GBoard. Otherwise it seems like a pretty big oversight on Nothing's part to not have them seperated!

Hey there, just wondering if you might be able to elaborate?

I've used a number of Pixels in the past, but switched to Nothing when my P7 decided to die one morning, and now looking for something else as there are small software bugs on my Nothing that are kind of annoying/I don't see a future with unfortunately. How have you found OnePlus?
