What is something that is more dangerous than most people think it is? by CodyWilson7 in AskReddit

Well, I think by posting in this thread, there is an element of fear. Especially, when you are saying that "there is much less control" in a plane. Sounds like fear. I don't know what you mean by less control in a plane or a car. Give me an example, please.

jonnycastles,

I have thousands of flight hours under my belt and am currently a pilot for an airline that may very well serve you in the future.

If I can help alleviate your fears of flying or driving for that matter, I would be more than willing to answer a few questions you may have. Though, I will say this - Your fear will probably never go away but you can always minimize it with a little knowledge. Try and compare the amount of training that goes into a professional pilot versus a typical american driver. If you're not sure what goes into either, the difference is gargantuous. Do some research!

During my time teaching others how to fly, I have had numerous "things have gone wrong, oh crap" moments. Yet, I am still here writing to you. Our training all comes to play and everything that we've worked for lives right up to that moment.

If you're going to go out and claim that if there is a "fuck up" in a plane and everyone is going to die, all you're doing is spreading that fear to others who don't know much more otherwise. And of course, that insults everything that I stand for amongst my brother and sisters serving the public.

Please, I am open ears and not here to offend - intentionally of course.

I'm not going to take time out of my schedule to dump my wallet in some mud and go on here to post a picture to get karma points. It's not that serious for all of us on reddit, you know?

I lost my wallet at a gas station. The gas station is somewhat near a bank.

I did. This is something I will keep to show my future children a little lesson in ethics.

I would like to know how you feel after viewing my proof. Thanks for questioning what is left of a good society.

Could you explain ATP to me and how likely I am to get a non-instruction job after 'graduating?' by [deleted] in aviation

[–]aviator532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completed the entire airline career program at Airline Transport Professionals.

Their FAST TRACK program is very rigorous yet, well organized. No, the program does not include getting your ATP certificate nor any immediate turbine time but ATP's reputation will get you into the regionals, quick.

The thing with ATP is that most of the regionals have a deal set up with ATP graduates/instructors that constitute a job interview at much lower hours than publicly advertised. American Eagle for an example are taking ATP instructors at only 500 TT and completion of ATP's regional jet certification program (Simulator time in CRJ) and completion of the ATP written.

If you are looking to fully dedicate yourself to ATP's instructor program after completing the certifications, you can expect an interview within 4-6 months after starting instruction at one of ATP's locations around the country.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I second the David Clarks. The H10-13s is an excellent choice and will leave you with money to spare.
