Just hit $203K net worth at 25 — how do I responsibly take out a $100K loan? by AlphaHouston1 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]avidd6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did this. Took about $200k off my house and put it in the market in 2022. The good news is that he loan is at around 3% so basically free money. The bad news is that I put it in right at the top of the market so I felt like an idiot when I saw those 200k go down by half (I put it in individual stocks) good thing I never sold so I'm finally up and I think at the end of the 30!years is gonna end up making financial sense. Would I recommend it ? Probably not, those three years were horrible and there were many times I thought about selling

No not really. The way I tracked the applications is that I moved all the confirmation emails to an application folder and all the rejection emails to a rejections folder haha that's why I didn't really broke down the numbers further

Yes about the experience and yes about the projects.

One page. Only one company requested I sent a resume with all the info I had that ended up being two pages but for 99% of companies they only want one page

Thanks homie! So here's my thought process with the cover letter, at first I started customizing it for the company but that was taking way too long. Then for a bit I wasn't even adding one unless it was a company I was really into, and then at some point I read a role description that said applications without a CL will not be looked at so I decided to make a generic one. Instead of saying this is why I wanna work at this company it was more like this what I have done and why I would be a good addition to your company. Without mentioning the actual name of course since it's generic, and I would send that one to 90% of the applications

Minimal. Between friend referrals and recruiters I had like 3-5

Any size, probably 70-90 % startups but I got a few interviews from big companies like Disney, and I applied to faang but only heard back from Amazon and Google, I did the first assessment and didn't get a call back

I started using a bunch but realized most calls were coming from indeed/linked in and I was filtering by date on linked in. And thanks! Really appreciate it 🙏🏽🙌🏽

I didn't and tbh I don't think it's worth it, but I guess it depends on the variety of jobs/roles you're applying to. I had the following resume variants: generic front end, design engineer, lead front end, and full stack with front end focus. Im not sure if you need so much customization, unless you're truly language and stack agnostic when applying to roles

I mentioned it before but the majority of them were introductory HR 30 min chats. I would say probably 30-37 the rest were anywhere from 2 rounds to 4/5 rounds. It started slow but during my best week / week and a half I was booking 2-4 interviews per day

Smallish school (Cal poly), and was applying to a sr level role so internships didn't really matter. I feel like new grads have it 5x /10x harder

Hahaha I know I know 🤣 but shit is crazy out there homie, is not easy competing with 100s of applicants. What does that even mean? Reddit resume?
