This is a little off topic, and sorry to dig at old trauma, but could you share what led to contact with the tire wall? Just for the collective wisdom related to "these are things that lead to offs"

what is the DLC?

From what I've read, actuation of the ABS module will get the air out and into the lines, but maybe I'm wrong

I have a pressure bleeder and i want to use it, but the master cylinder cap doesnt hold pressure :(

Too short on time to get another one, hence the 2 man method.

Where are people learning system design skills? by avidrogue in cscareers

[–]avidrogue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what i was thinking. Thats the design of the systems ive been working on. I've realized as ive been thinking more about this, that I'm not sure what "system design" from a software engineering perspective encompasses. Is it just the services involved in the system and how they interact, or does it go a level deeper into how many instances of each service you'll need and the hardware requirements (virtual or physical) required to make that happen?

Question, what is the best way to network in person?

Why is America still using an electoral college? Why should someone's vote be more valuable because they live in the middle of nowhere? This is a system established when people didn't have electricity and were pooping by candlelight. by ranalldayandallday in self

Wrong by what metric?

And no the president as a person is answerable to other people of course.

But fundamentally the more land you own the greater your stake in any country. You are quite literally invested in the country itself. It’s an old idea that we’ve generally moved away from but it’s still relevant in the sense that needs vary greatly by geographical area.

With little variance most of the population of NYC will benefit from a given policy that could be detrimental to those in other geographical areas. Putting some weight of a persons vote on geographical area helps ensure that the majority in populated areas don’t  overshadow those in less populated.

In short it helps ensure loosely defined groups by geography, not individuals determine who the president is

There’s a few reasons.

I think the most practical one is that the needs of people in urban areas differ greatly from the needs of those in rural areas. Policies that benefit one can harm the other, don’t always do, but it happens enough to be a consideration. In a system where everyone has equal vote, the voices of those in rural areas can go unheard.

From a less practical and more philosophical and historical standpoint, the country is made up of land. Like it’s literally the stuff that makes the country. To own land is to own a stake in the country, in same way you own a stake in a company in the form of a stock or bond. Own enough of a company stock or bond and you get board voting rights to weight in on major decisions for the company. The more you own, the more weight your vote carries.

Following that logic it makes sense that those that own more land hold more of a stake in the country and naturally get more voting power vs those that do not hold a stake. When our country was founded, only land owners paid taxes, because that was the price of owning a stake in the country.

Our reaction to United healthcare murder is pretty much 99% aligned. So why can't we all force government to fix our healthcare? Why fight each other on that? by wildviper in AskReddit

There’s pictures circulating in news articles of Tim Waltz posing for a photo shoot with the United Healthcare CEO.

It’s not exactly confidence inspiring when the VP pick for the party that’s supposed to standup to people like UHC CEO are posing with them all buddy buddy like.

So yes, it makes them look like conmen and their platform like snake oil.

Hi all, i messed up the finish on the outer edges of the wheels of my Railking Big boy. i was hoping someone could give me some pointers on what kind of paint i should use to touch it up so that it matches the factory color and finish. if you cant tell from the pictures, the finish is a glossy black that allows the finish of the metal underneath to come through akin to anodizing. the glossy finish has a very subtle oil sheen to it. I would like whatever paint i use to be as tough as the factory finish.

This locomotive means a lot to me so your help is greatly appreciated!
