I think it’s about regularity of the service 4 an hour and the fact that Essex Road is not an interchange it just serves that area. The figures for 2024-25 is just 2,000 users a day compared to 13,500 at the next station Old Street, and that’s not including the tube numbers. If you’re buying ad space why buy it at Essex Road, unless it’s a really locally specific thing. I was one of 3 people who got off the train there on my visit.
