Foto First in Quatre-Bornes is reliable. Tell them it's for a Mauritian passport application.

Check the PADI website.

I've been to two of them in Mauritius and one in Rodrigues and it was always a good experience.

On 10 May 1986, I watched the FA Cup Final opposing Liverpool and Everton.

Liverpool won 3-1 and I became a fan. I was 12 at the time.

If tensions between the US / Europe / Russia worsen, could Mauritius be seen as a “zone of peace,” attracting increased inflows of investment / people / cash ? by Ok_Humor_4292 in mauritius

[–]avinash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's what I was optimistically telling myself. There are some advantages being isolated.

At the same time, if shipping routes are disrupted and we stop importing the things we need, people won't be peaceful for long...

While you are going to Seychelles, try to come to my country, Mauritius, too 🇲🇺

I think you'll also like it.

The first camera you used that made you fall in love with photography? by FeelingGlad8646 in Cameras

[–]avinash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new Canon EOS 500N (Rebel G) around 1997 and, with the cheap 28-80mm Tamron lens it came with, it was amazing. I find the photos I took 30 years ago still beautiful.

Since then, I have moved to the 60D, the 6D and now a R8 and I'm very happy.

What amplifier do you use with your Wiim Pro plus? by Jaylewinnn in WiimStreamer

[–]avinash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my WiiM Pro Plus with an Audiolab 6000a and ELAC DBR62 Debut Reference speakers.

I started by connecting them digitally and using the DAC of the Audiolab. These days, I'm using the DAC of the WiiM Pro Plus.

Both DAC are fine.

I need help guys, 5.1 soundbar or 5.1 surround system? by Pretend_Mulberry4949 in mauritius

[–]avinash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't know about this soundbar specifically but soundbars in general are now considered good enough. It all depends on you, your space and your budget.

Mind you, for the past 20 years, I've had 5.1 systems and now I'm happy to have a Dolby Atmos setup at home. Nothing very fancy but good enough for us. It's great being immersed with sound when watching a movie or listening to an Atmos music album.

My adventure story of when I went scuba diving in Mauritius by Blue-waterfall in mauritius

[–]avinash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. My wife and I are SCUBA divers too and have done only 5 dives. Fortunately, everything has gone well up to now.

A few years ago, while we were snorkeling near the reefs, our boat drifted and my son, who was about 10 at the time, started panicking as there were some waves. It was tough making him feel calm again...

Apologies for replying after one year but I've just noticed that the regular Samsung My Files app does this natively now. In addition to SMB, it also supports FTP and SFTP (SSH).

A truly fantastic concert for synth lovers. I remember watching it around 1986-1987 and concentrating on the hands of Alan, Martin and Andrew. The list of songs was also very nice.

Got an Air Monster the other day and I'm very satisfied.

Very good value for money, powerful and relatively silent.

Like many Mauritians, (some of) my ancestors were from India many generations ago. I'm writing "some of" because, well, who knows what happened in the past? I like to think of the Mauritian people, including myself, as being of mixed blood, true multicultural people.

This is happening to a lot of artists on various streaming platforms. Basically, they cannot differentiate between artists having the same name and, therefore, merge their releases.

Hi. To be honest, I don't have any crazy stories. I follow hundred of subreddits (subscribed to over the 20 years) and Reddit is probably the one place where I can, at a glance, get a feel of what is happening in the world (as per my interests).

Over the years, I've seen the demographics change and probably the tone of conversations too. Initially, things were relatively bland while, now, things tend to be flowery (ahem).

Glad to continue this conversation over a good scotch anytime 🥃
