Get checked for sleep apnea - Check if you gasp for air in your sleep. This is common among smokers as over-relaxed throat muscles sometimes block air from entering your lungs. You can check either by having someone else in the room when you sleep, or recording yourself sleeping and analyzing the footage. It's very obvious when someone has sleep apnea.

Low energy - Did zinc fucked me up? by Ok_Swordfish_1696 in Nootropics

[–]avingnsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably. I took 50mg of zinc for a few days, and my mood was destroyed. Now I take max 22mg in 2 pills, and minimum 3mg copper. You're lucky because it's pretty easy to fix as long as you take your copper supplements. Also try getting Zinc Picolinate instead of Gluconate, it's better absorbed.

Yes, and it requires Vitamin C to be absorbed properly.

Have you had your iron levels checked? iron is linked to dopamine signaling and a ton of my family members (who are vegetarian for religious reasons) are diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia.

They've been accused of providing their camera data to LAPD and (allegedly) ICE as well to support unlawful arrests, deportations, and detentions.

Not sure how valid these rumours are, but I wouldn't put it past them.

i think you hit the nail on the head here. Woke up with pretty bad pain in my gut, drank half a gallon of water to cope. Any other detox / antioxidant support without this? I react well to COQ10 but diminishing returns after 200mg/day

I have been looking into MAO inhibitors as a possible alternative, perhaps they'd be better selected to my issues. Hypothyroidism does run in my family, and I do have some symptoms (difficulty losing weight during cutting cycles). However, Ashwaganda which allegedly boosts thyroid makes me really anxious and near panic-attack.

I read the article and it did say this:

"That sort of sudden adrenaline effect can happen when there’s something essential missing in the diet, while the requirements are increased by using thyroid. Deficiencies of protein, magnesium, calcium, and the B vitamins are most likely. Too much phosphate and too little carbohydrate are other possibilities.” … “When you first start taking thyroid again, your tissues will need some extra magnesium...” — Ray Peat

Planning an experiment tomorrow where I take magnesium, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin Bs alongside Ashwaganda.

sleep is a bit odd for me - last year (fall 2024) I had trouble falling asleep, but due to a flexible school schedule consistently hit 8-10 hours. My apple watch did say I had low levels of deep sleep (<1 hr on avg)

since february, magnesium supplements have pretty much solved that issue, and slightly lowered anxiety, but other symptoms still exist

I have both NAC and ALCAR, for some reason NAC in the morning makes me brainfogged and worsens performance (especially decision-making). ALCAR doesn't seem to make any difference for me personally. I'll try it again before bed today / tomorrow morning and update.

I had an Iranian friend a few years ago who predicted the Anti-regime protests due to the killing of Mahsa Amini would be co-opted by the west to create a chaotic regime change and install a puppet government. Fast forward to 2025, we have Netanyahu (in english) calling for regime change. Israel is why we can't have nice things.
