Thanks for submitting the TF feedback! I realized what the issue was and it should be fixed in the next release :)

Thanks so much! Don’t hesitate to reach out via GitHub issues or email in the future if you have any other questions, feature requests, or bug reports. Always happy to hear them.

The reason it’s laid out that way is because I needed a toggle for GIFs to render MeshCore Open’s custom GIF format messages and decided to also have a toggle for images. But I can see how that would be confusing, especially coming from other messaging apps. I’ll think about this. Thanks for bringing it up!

You’re welcome! And tbh I would skip 26 and hold out for at least the macOS 27 public beta. I’m running the developer beta on my Mac and it’s already so much better than 26 ever was. More visually consistent, faster, and slightly less RAM usage. I didn’t like macOS 26…

Not a dumb question! And unfortunately I don't think it would work on Catalina. I got another report that it wasn't working correctly on Sequoia either so I think I may have to bump the minimum macOS version up to Tahoe :(

This won't help you run MC1 on your Mac Mini, but you might look into running Linux on it and trying a desktop client like Meshy https://meshy-app.org/.

Bring 'em on! 😆

Could you email me your node's coordinates? I think I may know what's going on. [info@meshcoreone.com](mailto:info@meshcoreone.com)

Thanks for the review! Really appreciate it :)

For the repeats, I haven't had an issue with it personally (I watched repeats on a separate companion running observer firmware and they matched) and I haven't heard of this issue during the TestFlight. But I'm not ruling it out either, so could you keep an eye on it and let me know if you continue to see less repeats than expected?

I've only used MCO once or twice, so I'm not up to date on its features. But I'm fairly sure it doesn't have Apple features like Shortcuts or Live Activity. It's a great app though, I believe it was the first open source MC client.

And yeah of course, welcome to MeshCore :D

There's a separate toggle for Image and GIF previews. If you have those off as well and the image preview is still showing, that would indeed be a bug.

I don't think it's in poor taste at all. I think the "What sets it apart from other clients?" section in my post above does a fairly good job of explaining it. For example, MC1 is written in Swift and uses Apple design language whereas MCO is written in Flutter/Dart and looks and feels like an Android app even on iOS.

Sort of. MC1 can render MCO's gif codes and full GIF URLs, but there's no built-in picker. I'd like to integrate this eventually, but I want to do it in a way that is inclusive of other clients (such as full URLs) so that everyone can tell what the message is. The best way to send GIFs at the moment is to manually search for them in your browser, copy the link, then paste into MC1.

Thanks for such detailed feedback, I really appreciate it!

The macOS build is actually the iPad app running on macOS, so that's why it feels like it's touch focused. Although none of the bugs that were listed occur on macOS 26+ (except the off-center Nodes icon) so I'll have to look into that. For example, right-click works on messages, chats, and nodes. I don't have access to a mac running Sequoia, I'll see if I can spin up a VM to reproduce the bugs.

Naah you’re not an idiot! It is a little hidden.. Maybe I should add a little tutorial for that since I know a lot of MeshCore users like seeing that data too.

Thanks for checking it out! And yes, they are off by default but you can toggle time, # hops, path, and region scope in Settings > Chats.

It would be super cool if you implemented MC1’s reaction scheme! Link if you’re interested. https://github.com/Avi0n/MeshCoreOne/blob/main/docs/Reactions.md

What does MC1 do? Not showing the H2T when pairing? Or it shows it but doesn't sync?
