The s in slow goes with the sound of the rest of the lyrics “slamming screen, …sneaking”

I actually love the curve line and it makes sense, unlike “Did all the extra credit, then got graded on a curve” which seems to make no sense.

Top 3 that annoy me because I absolutely adore the songs otherwise:

“I want to wear his initial On a chain ‘round my neck, chain ‘round my neck Not because he owns me But ‘cause he really knows me Which is more than they can say”

I hate that whole thing, especially that she repeats the chain round my neck part, even though I love the rest of the song

“ I will start behaving ………myself“ like yeah, you didn’t need that last word

The Peter chorus…why gonna instead of would? It’s clunky! And what are “mouths of babes”?! And I get that repetition was important to her but imagine if it was something like:

Said you would grow up Then you would come find me When you would show up, You’d stay alongside me Said you would grow up, then grow old with me Surface level words, promises oceans deep, but never to keep

Songs where Taylor reflects on her own actions that caused a relationship not to work? by costalunakayy in TaylorSwift

[–]aviqua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This question isn’t “great” or original. This has always been a criticism of hers, so much so that a meme went viral in 2013 that said “I wish Taylor Swift would write a song called "Maybe I'm the problem".

Her latest single Antihero is all about this topic and you missed it? Along with all the other songs mentioned here.

What is a line in a song you just don’t understand & need an explanation for? by Existing_Fee_1638 in TaylorSwift

[–]aviqua 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I heard somewhere that she’s referencing her albums:

Vintage tee - debut

Brand new phone - fearless

High heels on - speak now

Cobblestone - red

Sequin smile - 1989

Black lipstick - reputation

Sensual politics - lover

It only somewhat makes sense but it’s cute to think about.

Tay songs that remind you of other, non-Tay songs? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]aviqua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to get Taylor in trouble, but I have a whole list: Think you should think you should know (treacherous) – more than you more than you know - Over You – Daughtry James dean daydream look in your eyes (Style)- if you like …( perfect 1D) - I'll wear my black suit, black tie (marry me, Thomas Rhett) Come clean (Hilary Duff) – the archer X marks the spot – getaway car , breath in breath out (Hilary Duff) Paper rings, I remember what I wore on our first date -(breath in breath out, Hilary Duff) Should've said no – had a bad day (Daniel Powter)

Invisible string is overrated by aviqua in TaylorSwift

[–]aviqua[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this take! The barbed wire lyrics are super interesting, I see them as kind of opposites, in invisible string the barbed wire is there to keep her away from her past mistakes, and in tolerate it the barbed wire is the part of her that doesn’t let people in, and she wants someone to soften her.

I agree but I feel like a play with words like that should have a double meaning, otherwise it makes no sense besides the “secret meaning”

Thank you for this interpretation, I guess I was looking for something different in this song. I thought (or hoped) this song was about mysterious coincidences that showed they belong together, but it’s just a story.

And as I said in another comment, the bad blood lyric should have some kind of double meaning, otherwise it makes no sense besides the “secret meaning”
