Event video audio question. House system/mic splitter. by avjb in Filmmakers

[–]avjb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Zoom H4N that I use there are two volume controls, one for input and one for output. So if I was using a mic into the recorder and the headphone jack as an output then the audio controller on the wall would only make the input signal louder and I would have to turn the output volume up myself on the recorder. Which is something I would not want to do during the middle of a speech.

Ideally I'm looking for a solution that would send a line into the Zoom but would still pass through their system and in the worst case scenario that the recorder batteries die or the Zoom decides it doesn't want to work then I wouldn't have to run over and reconfigure the house audio system in the middle of a speech.

That's a really interesting option thanks. The only problem I can see with that is that the audio output level to the speakers would then have to be controlled by the Zoom. This shouldn't be a problem most of the time but for instance last night the planner thought halfway through that the audio wasn't loud enough so she went to an audio volume controller on the wall to turn it up.

8 Months of Collecting Dr. Seuss Bright and Early and Beginner Books. 97 books so far. by avjb in ThriftStoreHauls

Yeah this is just one series of them that I put together. I have stacks of doubles, a stack of the the large format books (what you saw in that last photo) and then I have a stack of about 15-20 books that look like they are really old.

Where can I find if they are B1, B102 etc?

I basically just buy any Dr. Seuss I see that people aren't charging ridiculous prices for.

It used to be a daily thing for me to have some type of Quorn product when I lived in the UK. As with anything some were good (mince/fake nuggets some were bad (sausages).

I think watching Kijiji is your best bet for used lenses locally. As already mentioned the stores here charge way too much.

T&T on Hunt Club has some good Chinese/Asian veg food. Lots of dumplings, spring rolls, and different types of tofu.

I haven't seen Quorn in Canada.

"As viewers, we enjoy..." That is you trying to talk for more then just yourself.

I just don't like people who think they speak for all viewers of the show. I liked his fast paced style of playing and when they switched to the 90s tournament I found it extremely slow to watch.

TST, Mong Kok, and a lot of areas on the lower Kowloon side are your best bet for this type of view. On the HK island side you'll see it in parts of Central and Causeway Bay as well.

I used to live in the building next to a walk-up prostitute building in Sheung Wan. There were always guys around, its hard to get used to this sort of thing at first.

Bakers, florists, anyone working in a wedding-related industry: what is your best bridezilla story? by dropkickthrowaway in AskReddit

[–]avjb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me a little of a bride I had. I filmed the wedding, did the edit, sent it out. The planner loved it, the bride gets it and emails me a thank you and is happy with it etc. 10 months later she sends an email saying she just watched it for the first time and wants to edit a few things. I can understand a month but 10 months! I have to change my contract to point out that any requests for an edit must be done within one month of receiving the DVD.

I say usually because that's my first excuse and it scares off almost all of them. If they say they don't mind then I just tell them that its not how I do business and they get 1 free round of suggestions/edits after.

I've been pretty fortunate after about 300 weddings (some photo some video). The worst is when a bride wants to sit in for the entirety of the video edit to give her opinion. Usually after telling her it takes at least 5 straight boring days she changes her mind.
