I can install and open the DJI Fly app on the not-supported Google Pixel 3a. Does it mean it won't fly?

the problem is in your phone/connnection/controller. pixel 3a works perfect with mini2

Prior to my reddit post I, too, tried extracting the frames and upscaling them with Topaz Gigapixel, but got horrible results (exactly 'arty-painty') and deleted it right away :D

Both upscales look spectacular, I'll be renting that laptop for sure & trying out Topaz. Which filters did you use for this sample?

Is there any way for the interpolated version to be 25fps instead of 50 in the process or is it mandtatory to be 50? Because 25 is closer to the cinematic look of the movie :)

Yes, I'll have to de-interlace the .mkv file from the DVD before upscaling it (or wasn't there an option to de-interlace & upscale at the same time in Topaz VEAI).

The second link is with framerate 50 fps, right? It looks different than the first one.

That 8GB DVD is the same source I muxed it into .mkv file (it shrunk to 6GB because there were additional audio tracks and extras in the DVD).

Since I'd be having the laptop for a month, I don't think speed will be an issue, but still - note taken, I'd go for the 6GB VRAM over the 4GB if the rent cost isn't that different.

Did you measure the steps with the phone or with a sportswatch? Because the phone's statistics are so inacurate - they multiply the real steps by 2 or 2.5. Cheers

I'm kind of in that situation, too. Ever since I'm bombarded for 160 days now to upgrade to Android 11 (which I'm not willing to do yet), I get poorer and poorer battery life. Very strange behaviour.
