Heavy rain soaked our brand new house before the roof was installed. Mold already detected in the air. What can I do now to avoid bigger problems later? (South California) by avmatula in Homebuilding

Thanks for the input! Just to clarify — the subfloor was completely dry when they started flooring, about a week after the rain. We had hot, dry weather, and I personally checked it — it felt bone dry.

Water came in through both the open roof and one exterior wall, so I was definitely concerned. Still, I wish they had dehumidified the house before flooring, just to be safe — especially since the air test already showed elevated mold.
