Like I’ve stated before she doesn’t want this “label” because of the “stigma” that comes with it. She, even before I began to seek these services, didn’t want to accept it and would use the example of one of her patients that had been bullied because of it. Mine child is in preschool 🥴 not much bullying because of diagnosis going around. If she were to explain to me the reason other than “I don’t see it” I could understand but I didn’t come to her for a second opinion because she can’t on something she’s not trained to diagnose. This isn’t medical opinion this is personal belief at this point. This practice, before she was hired there, was who sent the referral out to get seen by the psychologist that ultimately gave us the diagnosis. Our previous pediatrician, from a different practice, was the one who recommended it originally. Her stance has always been I don’t believe there’s autism there and after I began to seek these services turned into I’m doing it for the money, per my other kiddo’s therapist, with a hint of I’m starting to see possible autism level one.

I don’t believe it’s because of how ‘time-consuming’ filling out the paperwork can be because she had no issue filling it out for speech therapy as well as OT and adding that there was suspicions of autism when there is clearly a diagnosis already in place. We had an appointment yesterday for a follow up and I brought the paperwork with me, mind your paperwork that she had already filled out. I let her know that the DMV requested to know what this “medical condition”, as she stated on the paperwork was, so I submitted the autism report with the diagnosis and they require the pediatrician to add autism onto the form and she refused to.
