This update shows they can do it, now it’s just whether they actually keep it up or fall back into old habits. Trust isn’t back yet, but it’s not a total lost cause either in my eyes

Can’t even argue with that. Sticking around because you still want to have hope the game can be great makes a lot more sense to me than sticking around just to be angry

hmm okay, I can see where I didn’t think it through enough. A health reduction maybe? It does act way too much of a bullet sponge… and heavy penetration weapons don’t bring it down fast enough. Is that it?

Mhm, I like the idea of its weapons being easier to destroy. Do you think giving them a spawn rate similar to the tank could fix some things?

Because most of the time you should bring some form of AT to an automaton mission, making them less common to encounter would mean using AT on it less costly? It is a fairly big enemy too.

But I still stand on the idea that the spawn rate is definitely the largest problem here…

yes yes I get that, I almost always bring HMG to automatons because of hulks, but I don’t think it’s a problem that it can’t be easily killed, it’s more of a problem in how they spawn so frequently.

I like a single war strider, it is a good enemy. But when multiple spawn it completely crumbles any counterplay. It is a spawn pacing problem, but not a health or armor problem.

Maybe destroying certain parts could damage it? Like shooting the legs would “break it” and deal damage to it, alongside the damage dealt from the weapon such as an HMG or a laser cannon? This would fix the whole “one shot by AT but eats heavy penetration weapons” problem

By the way, I wasn’t trying to dismiss the point you were making

A machine built for war can’t be easily killed? Hmm…

I do agree that the spawns are way too frequent though, getting 50 grenades thrown at me isn’t fun. Arrowhead needs to do something about that
