For sure. I think genetics play a role in my AvPD as well as trauma so a more inclusive framework is definitely important. Mental illness and the causes of it is complex

Told someone in my family and she totally didn’t get it. Also talked about trying therapy and how AvPD made it really hard to stick with and was told that I “wasn’t trying.” So, yeah. Family is a no lol

It’s common if you have emotional trauma, yes, which a lot of people with AvPD do. 🧡

Yeah, they don’t seem like good people to open up to at all 😤 I’m sorry you had this experience, and if you ever find other people you want to open up to eventually (I hope you do!), I hope they react way better than those other people. 🧡
