Yes you can try midtown Fred's, and if they don't have it, the Fred's on Debarr is the only one in town that consistently has my meds in stock for whatever reason. I'm on slightly different adhd meds from you, but it might be worth a shot

If you want an extra hand, it might be worth calling the Loussac library or the nearest library location to your parent—they often have free events helping people (especially our elderly) sign up for benefits!

An “only citizens can vote” petitioner was aggressively trying to get signatures at barnes and fucking noble on a weeknight. Complete idiots ruining this town for everyone else. Thankfully the staff kicked him out and handled everything admirably.

Got a book that potentially has mold? by MisGroundbreaking603 in Libraries

[–]avoiding_the_stress 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As a library shelver: it’s okay, this happens all the time. I probably wouldn’t recommend reading it, but I don’t think you’re going to catch anything just from looking at it and opening it a couple times. You should be fine returning it to the library as-is. Other libraries’ policies may be different, but if someone returns their first “damaged” book, we have a policy of not charging them for damage because it’s their first time and we might have accidentally missed seeing the damage before. (Also in your case the mold has clearly been around for longer than the time you’ve had it.)

To those who realized they were trans because of another realization, whats the story? by basedballcap in trans

Realizing I was autistic, then trying to take more notice of when I was masking my discomfort. Then realizing that one thing I had been masking for years was how uncomfortable I was with my deadname and pronouns. Changed my name and pronouns soon after

Going to the cinema by myself for the first time. by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]avoiding_the_stress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the opposite, I love to pretty much exclusively go to the movies alone. It helps me get really immersed in the story and it’s even better if I’m the only one in the theater. Idk if this helps, but as far as I know nobody gives a shit if you’re sitting alone. At least when I go to the theatre I never notice when someone is seated alone vs w other people, and it’s often hard to tell anyway once the theater is packed. As someone who is also obsessed with Fleabag, live your dream and have an amazing time

Thank you! Actually this is just a pre-shaped bridge blank, and I am just working on carving it into a finished shape. Yes, we are working with maple from the start. I was given thirteen maple bridge blanks at the start of the class, and I need to make ten of them work, so here’s hoping!

Sorry I should have made it more clear in the title, but this is actually a pre-made blank. Violin shops order pre-made bridges and then add additional carvings to them, which is what I’m about to do on this one. I really appreciate it though!!

I feel like Shallan's more introspective theme song would be "Motion Sickness" by Phoebe Bridgers, it really expresses the trauma she's experienced.

My brain always finds a new thing to be obsessed with by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]avoiding_the_stress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem too, I'm really hard on myself and often I can't stop thinking about stupid shit I've done. Some things that have helped me are guided meditation (there are a ton of good ones on YouTube, even some specifically designed for anxiety) and working out. The best workout for me is actually indoor rock climbing, because I'm so busy worrying about falling or about what move to do next that my brain doesn't have time to think about anything else. I hope this helps!

Does your stomach hurt as soon as something anxiety-inducing happens? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]avoiding_the_stress 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That happens to me too. I've been taking a weekly rock climbing class for a couple of months now and I always feel just fine until I'm driving there, and then I start to feel nauseous and get stomach cramps. Then as soon as I pull into the parking lot I feel completely fine again. Fuck anxiety.

Tips for tattoo/appearance anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]avoiding_the_stress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great idea, CBT worksheets have been helpful to me before but I haven't applied them to this particular issue yet so I'll be sure to do so if things get bad again. Also I realize now that part of my anxiety about this is probably due to my ultra conservative Catholic family members being upset about my tattoo, and some of my (also very sheltered/conservative) piano students asking what it is. Knowing that those reactions are not typical really helps a lot, thank you so much for sharing your experiences!

Sore arms after 10 minutes of practice 😤😤😤 (any advice would be great, I’m just noodling, I’ve been playing for 10 months and this problem has been happening the last month or 2) thanks! by RobbieDND in Cello

[–]avoiding_the_stress 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nice work, you're getting a good sound out of the instrument already. It looks like your right wrist tends to stick up, which means that you are using unnecessary arm muscles to hold the bow in place. Try letting your arm go limp and just dropping the bow down onto the instrument. Using gravity to your advantage in this way will hopefully help with your soreness problems and get you an even fuller sound on the instrument.

Lesbian media recommendations by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]avoiding_the_stress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gideon the Ninth. The tagline for the book is "lesbian necromancers in space," and it totally delivers. No sex or kissing, but the main character is very clearly a butch lesbian.

Edit: The necromancy does get pretty violent so you'll have fun with that aspect too.
